You know the people. The ones you block from your Facebook feed because their status updates are just so boring/annoying/attention-whoring that you can’t stand to read them, and for some social reason, you don’t want to unfriend them. Don’t be that person, mmkay? Take a moment to think about whether you really want to share a particular thought with the Internet, and the only way your friends and family will digitally drop you is if you steal the last slice of cake at your next get-together.

Here are 8 questions to ask yourself before you hit enter on that Facebook status.

  1. What’s the purpose of your update? Are you conveying information? Sharing something funny? Make sure you actually have a reason for posting. No one cares if you had chicken for dinner unless it was the best chicken ever and everyone needs to try this recipe because zomg it’s to die for.
  2. Who’s your audience? Your boss, your dad, and your friend’s 14-year-old daughter don’t need to know you did shots off the bar with your hands tied behind your back.
  3. How many times have you updated today? If you need to update more than three to five times a day, sign up for Twitter.
  4. Is it vague? I guarantee you’ll get more support and prayers if you actually tell people what you need the prayers for. Otherwise keep it off the net.
  5. Is it passive aggressive? If you included the phrase some people, while thinking of someone specific yet not mentioning them, you’re being passive aggressive. Just hit delete and maybe work on your conflict resolution skills.
  6. Is it something you’d be interested in reading in someone else’s feed? Chances are if you’re not interested in reading it about another person, they’re not interested in reading it about you.
  7. Will your friends hate Jesus if they don’t repost it? Just no. Jesus doesn’t base His love for you on how many things you’ve re-blogged for Him.
  8. Is it FarmVille? They have settings to only post to other people that play the game. Please use them

You can learn a lot about the guy you’re dating by just looking in his fridge. At least that's what John Stonehill, the creator of the dating advice site Check Their Fridge, says. So next time you head over to a guy's apartment, skip snooping in his medicine cabinet or bedside table and go straight to the cold box for everything you need to know.

What's he worth: There is a direct connection between a dude's finances and what's in his fridge. First check out the unit − is it a high end Sub Zero or a 1970s special he got from his Grandparents before they moved to Florida? Then check the food inside. Is it name brand or generic? This isn't about being a foodie − it's about spending an extra 50 cents on Tropicana or going with the no-name grocery brand of OJ.

How clean is it?: If his fridge is a disaster, his life probably is too. A gros,s dirty fridge could mean that's how he lives his life. Be cautious of a guy who is overly clean and organized too − that could be a warning sign for someone who is a little too rigid!

Does he like to party?: If the fridge is packed with beers and wine, this is a guy who likes to have fun and is ready for his boys to come over any time, day or night. Be prepared to go out a lot and spend most of your free time with his friends!

Healthy Foods: You want to see a variety of produce and junk − not too much of one and not the other. If you only see kale and raw carrots or hot pockets and bagel bites… run! If there is a normal mix of both, he is going to be even-keeled and fun to hang out with. (Glamour)

Here’s a rundown of some foods that you should make a part of your diet now because they’re actually healthier than you think:
  • Spaghetti and Meatballs – The ground beef has iron and protein, the tomato sauce gives you antioxidants, and the pasta gives you energy. As long as you limit yourself to three ounces of meat and a cup of whole-wheat pasta, you’re in good shape.

  • Peanut Butter – While peanut butter does contain fat, you’re also getting protein, fiber, and vitamin E.

  • Burritos – Burritos can be a healthy choice when filled with vegetables, rice, beans, and just a little meat. Just lay off the sour cream and cheese to keep the calories and fat in check.

  • Eggs - Eggs do contain some cholesterol, but you can eat up to two eggs per day without messing up your cholesterol levels. (FoodNetwork.com)

Here's a collection of stuff we found that is fun and interesting on relationships

Reasons Divorce is Harder on Men Than Women

Research shows that divorced men take a physical beating with increased rates of heart disease, high blood pressure, and strokes. Why is this? According to relationship experts, here are some reasons that divorce is harder on men than women:

  • They Lose Their Sense Of Identity – Guys often wrap their identity in their role of husband. It offers stability. When the relationship falls apart, so does their sense of who they are.
  • Their Paternal Instinct Is Challenged – Most men want to be known as good fathers. When guys feel like failures or shameful because of the divorce, they could fade away from the picture.
  • They Don't Allow Themselves To Grieve Properly – Since men often bottle up their feelings, all the emotional turmoil wrecks them up inside. Women are so much better about relying on friends for this kind of stuff.

Honeymoon Facts:

If you think that honeymoons are all getting down with their new spouse, think again. A new survey found that only 28% of honeymoon couples got busy more than once a day. In fact, 6% said they were so tired from the wedding that they never hooked up ONCE on their honeymoon! (Yahoo)

Rules for a Happy Marriage?

Rockers Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger are married, they have some simple rules for nurturing the relationship.

  • Never spend more than two weeks apart.
  • No drinking unless they're together.
  • No nightclubs or any other hot spots that are “asking for trouble.” (People)

E-xpensive Harmony!

If you’re rich and looking for love, eHarmony wants you. They’re launching a new service in December called eH+ that will give you a “personal counselor” for a year … for $5,000. Here’s how it’s going to break down:

“The counselors will be psychologists or certified marriage counselors and will interview eH+ clients over Skype, or via phone. They’ll then search the site on behalf of the customer. The client must complete a questionnaire, but doesn’t have to bother with filling out or maintaining a profile, making the initial contact with a potential date, or suffering the embarrassment of managing rejections or unanswered queries.”

Personally, we’d rather spend 5 grand taking new people to lavish dinners and maybe a trip, but a counselor could be interesting too. (QZ)
