I’m confident this will take you back to possibly when you first discovered country. CDJ is a very decorated Canadian Country artist. She’s an incredible song writer and very strong vocalist, as she has written a number of songs for other artists. Big songs too, like Single White Female for Chely Wright and Downtime for JoDee Messina. Many of her songs we also recorded by a who’s who list of 90’s country women. Her album, Room With A View is simply sensational that was reviewed very well with a few big hit songs on it. This song, which to me was the perfect example of the new century pop country sound was exceedingly popular with fans. This song went to #5 on the country charts and did quite well on the Hot 100 too. But the driving force behind this song was the “love meter”. (Read the comments when you play video) This song was loved. It’s highly relatable, delivered perfectly, and I can remember few songs that I got more requests for in that era that this one. This is one of the most popular non #1 songs of this new century. This spoke to many that have been in the absolute exact situation as her in this song. This album had great success, and this was a big part of it. CDJ has won about every Canadian Music award you can and has won many of them multiple times. She was the ACM Top New Female Vocalist 2002 and American Music Award winner for Best New Country Artist for 2003. This song and she, are simply sensational. Her first single, Georgia was loved and the follow up single to our featured song , I Don’t Want You To Go, was another amazing song going top ten. But Complicated is a real favorite of many, even those who may not have heard it in a long time. And that’s a rare thing.
