I am someone who has suffered from mental illness in the past and still deal with it now by going to counseling. A great way to help you stay well mentally sometimes is to simply disconnect from electronic devices, social media and the news altogether.

That is what Cody Johnson does on occasion. He says he gets very serious about unplugging from work/the music industry as well as the news in order to stay grounded and be able to enjoy his family without driving himself (or them for that matter) crazy.

Anytime you begin to feel overwhelmed, take a step back and don’t pay attention to negativity.
