It seems fitting that Trisha Yearwood, who is a vocal champion for her fellow female country artists, received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame during International Women’s History Month. Several years ago Trisha made history when her self-titled debut becames the first debut country album from a woman to sell a million copies.
During the presentation ceremony on Monday, March 24th, Trisha spoke about her fellow females and how the bond they have values community over competition.
“There’s a misconception that female artists in particular are always climbing at each other and trying to get at each other, but the truth is, we’re all cheering for each other and with each other, and this is an example of that. These girls, from every generation of country music, we’re all for each other.”
Reba McEntire and Carly Pearce were on hand to speak about and celebrate Trisha, along with CMT’s Cody Alan and, of course, her husband Garth Brooks.
Congratulations!!
