Dolly Parton is set to receive another award.
On Sunday, November 16th, Dolly will receive the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award at the Motion Picture Academy’s Governor’s Ball. The Oscar recognizes Dolly’s humanitarian and philanthropic efforts over the decades through the Dollywood Foundation and the Imagination Library.
Dolly has 11 Grammy awards and won an Emmy in 2021 for her Netflix special Dolly Parton’s Christmas On the Square. With this Oscar, she is only a Tony award away from EGOT status — and with a Broadway musical in production, that seems easily within reach.
