Meet our handsome, 2.5 year old, Rocky. He loves all people he meets, other dogs and children, too. This boy is every bit as good-looking as his picture. He’s a stunning 28 pound bundle of love.
Placement of all breeds, and mixed-breeds, into loving homes is our goal. Though an array of dogs cross our threshold, the organization is well-known for championing the Beagle breed.
Beagles are used in medical testing because they are agreeable and don’t want to disappoint their handler. Perfect in size, they don’t take up much room. Lastly, they’re very social. Not getting along with others is rarely an issue. And, they’re fun! Far from boring, they make life interesting. Their entertainment is pure joy and they are the biggest “snuggle-bugs.” This is one very loyal breed and they love with their whole heart.
Containment is a must as that nose will take them just about anywhere. A securely installed leash or a fenced-in yard is a must. It’s said they’re vocal; however, many are not. Given the reputation of being diggers – some are and some aren’t. That label is not unique to the Beagle breed as many pet owners know their dogs enjoy the smells of dirt. The good news is, Beagles love baths and will be back to smelling great after a good scrubbing. I speak from experience; I’ve had 5!
