Interesting that a song that was so big and impactful is from a very talented band that in the long run turned out to be their own worst enemy.  I loved the Band Perry, especially after seeing them on stage and talking with Kimberly Perry.  She possessed real star power that’s darn rare.  I thought their music found a real niche and they absolute stood out.  This song was so big, so powerful fans loved it.  It was a big number one, and charted in countries around the world.  To date is has been certified 10X Platinum.  It was the CMA Song AND Single Of The Year and nominated same by the ACM, and Grammys.  The video was exceedingly popular as well.  Everything this song did was very rare indeed.  It’s the kind and size of song every artist hopes to have.  It was gigantic and it seemed they were on their way.  But over the years through many self-imposed attempted reinventions, radical format and image changes, the Band Perry found life very difficult. I have always felt it’s one of Country’s big mysteries on what really happened here.  This young band with many great songs, and this highly impactful single just slipped away.  But, what a hit song this was   –  and is.  It just was certified Diamond last week, only the 15th Country Song to be so.
