Award-winning duo Maddie and Tae shared the news that they are splitting, but they are not calling it a “breakup.”

Taylor Dye Kerr, who is married to hit songwriter and producer Josh Kerr, is taking a break from the career to focus on her family. Maddie Marlow Font is moving forward as a solo artist.

The pair say they are leaving the relationship “open-ended” and could record another album or tour together some day, but Maddie says, “Just in this season, it doesn’t feel aligned for us to do it together.”

Maddie and Tae add that even though their work relationship is changing, their personal friendship stays very much intact and they are looking forward to just being friends instead of colleagues.
