Sammy Kershaw was loved for the time he was on the charts. He had a absolute and distinct singing style that was as unique as anyone in any era. He had a great fan base and had an amazing way of singing songs of the common man, and few have been as believable as he was. This was his break through single and really got him noticed. It was a #3 hit with a great backstory, as Kershaw HATED the song at first, as it was offered around Nashville. He finally recorded it as a favor to the producer in about 15 minutes. It worked, as it launched his career, and the album sold a million.
