In case you haven’t looked at the calendar yet, today is August 1st. Growing up, I always dreaded this day on the calendar for one reason – back to school!

I knew that once we turned the page to today it would be less than a month until school started. Like most kids, I loved Summer vacation. After having roughly 10 weeks off I was not ready to go back. Of course like anything, a couple weeks into the school year, you don’t give it another thought. 

The thing was that seeing the date start with August made it FINAL. The countdown was in days or at best less than 5 weeks rather than 2 months still.
