The Haslam’s are not having a great couple of years…
Jimmy and Dee Haslam made the worst trade ever and blew up their draft capital and totally wrecked their salary cap with Deshaun Watson’s Fully Guaranteed Contract.
The Browns in a 3 win season and really no QB left in the room. Browns were hoping to nail a pick at #2 or trade out and increase draft capital and pick up an experienced QB. I think Andrew Berry and Kevin Stefanski probably had a plan. I imagine that went up in smoke when Myles Garrett requested a trade today. Now I realize this could just be “contract tactics”. Watson got $250 Million where is Myles’s chunk since he is actually playing and being successful.
I hope he does get another contract Garrett is a guy that you want to start and retire in your organization. As Andrew Berry said last week “Cleveland to Canton” meaning the Hall of Fame. The Defensive Player of The Year will be named Friday or Saturday Night and Myles is deserving of a 2nd straight DPOY Award. He obviously feels he deserves a shot at the Super Bowl also and looks like he doesn’t think it is in Northeast Ohio at this point in time. As I said, he could be using tactics and he is not gone until he signs somewhere else and this season isn’t even technically over… If Myles does take his talents somewhere else, it kind of feels like another athlete that left Northeast Ohio after starting his hoops career here…
Back To The Haslam’s. They are in court over this Brookpark Dome Project fighting the City of Cleveland over the Modell Law. Myles wants a trade. Browns don’t have a QB. The Haslam’s have a stake in the Milwaukee Bucks in the NBA and they aren’t doing great. They own the Columbus Crew Soccer Team who just Transferred their top play Cucho Hernandez to the La Liga. You maybe like what’s the big deal Ben? Well they moved the biggest home game of the year with Lionel Messi and Miami to Browns Stadium in April. So the Halsam’s ticked off the whole City of Columbus too. Not only getting rid of the face of soccer in Columbus… But moving the Messi Game 2-hours away… Hasn’t been a banner couple of years and especially the last few weeks for The Haslam’s.
