Remember to leave faucets running a little overnight and open your cupboards under the sinks and your dishwasher (let warm air circulate) to help prevent pipes from bursting.  This is important especially if faucet is connected to a pipe on an exterior wall or one that has frozen in the past.

This will increase your utility bill a little but will far outweigh a plumbing emergency call or damage to your home…

Portable Heaters in rooms that are prone to freezing but do not leave them unattended.  If you have to leave your home keep the thermostat no lower than 55 Degrees…
