Sue Wilson

WQMX Program Director & Morning Show Co-host

In a business that often requires relocation, Sue considers herself fortunate to have been able to spend her entire radio career in the area she was born and raised; as an air personality, music director, research director, program director and programming consultant.

Sue has worked at great radio stations like WCPZ, Sandusky and WKDD, Akron, before spending almost 20 years in Cleveland radio WFHM (The Fish), WLTF and WDOK.

In fact, she programmed WDOK for 12 years before joining McVay Media as a radio consultant. Sue joined WQMX in December of 2006.

Sue also does professional voice-over work and radio station imaging through her freelance voice business “Sue Wilson Creative”. You can hear her voice on radio stations in several markets around the country, including Your Country 94.9 WQMX!

Long-time country radio listeners may remember Sue’s late husband, Phil Cordle, who worked at the legendary Akron country station WSLR 1350/AM for many years. Sue has 2 wonderful daughters, Elise and Laura.

Sue found more than a new job when she started working at WQMX. She met her future husband, Tim Daugherty. Tim and Sue share a commonality in that they both lost their spouses to cancer. As co-workers and friends first, their friendship slowly evolved and the two are now engaged. Tim has been at sister station WONE for over 20 years, and is currently WONE’s program director and on air personality. Tim has 3 kids, Jenna, Colin and Faith.
