Shelby County Fair - Sidney, Ohio
March 11

Today is a day that will forever change the Shelby County Fair. It is with deepest sorrow that we share the passing of Jerry Schaffner Secretary. He brought suc...h joy, commitment and passion to this fair for over 32 years! He loved the fair and we all loved him. Today we didnโ€™t just lose our Secretary we lost a friend. Our hearts are broken and no words can ever express just how much he means to us. For many on the board and their families he was much more than a friend; he was another dad, grandpa, brother or uncle. He always had a story, joke, smile and laugh ready to share. He listened, supported and encouraged all of us to be and do the best we could. He spent countless hours preparing, organizing and researching to ensure the fair was ready and enjoyable. We canโ€™t imagine fair without him and his absence has left a huge hole in our hearts, lives and fair. So today, we say a huge thank you for all of the support, time and love you have given to not only the Shelby County Fair but also to the people you served with. Until we meet again friend!
