By July of 2020, The Westmont apartment building in the Highland Square neighborhood of Akron will be ready to take new tenants.  Those tenants will be families with children that attend the 'I Promise' School, who may be in need of a safe place to call home while the Lebron James Family Foundation helps them to work out a long term plan to better their situation.   The “I Promise Village by Graduate Hotels” is a joint effort by Graduate Hotels and the LJFF to provide transitional housing for students and their families who may be in a difficult situation and have nowhere else to go.  Renovations and updates have already begun on the building, just 5 blocks from the I Promise School, with the goal to have it move-in ready for the next school year.

The High School jersey worn by Akron's own LeBron James while playing for St.V and made famous by his first Sports Illustrated photo shoot in 2002 will be auctioned off later this month.

The gold mesh #23 'Irish' jersey was allegedly given to its current owner/seller by James many years ago.

Early bids are already into five figures and a portion of the sale will be donated, according to the auction house.

Always one to give back to his Hometown, LeBron James made a trip back to Akron to unveil some new additions and improvements at his "I Promise" School on West Market street on Wednesday.

A media lab, a family training center, a family resource wing and an area called “believers bend”, which highlights the achievements of some of history's biggest underdogs, were among the new additions inside the facility, but the highlight of the day was outside:  An updated and state-of-the-art Basketball Court!

LeBron and the rest of the "Fab Five" (his former high school teammates from St.V) along with Head Coach Dru Joyce were all on hand to help christen the court with a 5 on 5 game against the kids.
