This is the time of year in NEO that if 'The Fair' isn't in your County, chances are it's coming up soon or there's one the next County (or two) over... and Tonight is "Country Night" at the Medina County Fairand Jake Owen will bring his high energy show to the big stage at 8:00pm.

Well, this little guy from Minnesota wasn't quite done with all the fun and excitement that was happening just a block down the road from his house, so he hopped on his little battery powered John Deere tractor and went right down the sidewalk and thru a back gate to the Chisago County Fair.

My youngest son, Maks (8), has big plans to open his own Lemonade Stand in front of Gramma's house some day, so when I saw this story it made me smile.  I love to see kids going all out to help out a cause that they believe in, just like these two little girls in Akron.  At 50 cents a glass, Summer and Ashlynn raised around $150 for the Akron Police Department K9 Unit this past Thursday.

News 5 Cleveland shared their story the other day and I wanted to share it with you, as kids can often show us how to be a big inspiration through little gestures.

As of this past Saturday, the Cleveland Public Library has eliminated outstanding fines for Library Card holders, and the library will be Fine-Free moving forward.

The idea is to make it easier for anyone and everyone in the city to have access to the Library's countless resources in hopes of spreading knowledge and ideas, and also to welcome back nearly 3,000 adults that are unable to use their library cards due to previously being over the limit of $25 in Fees.

On July 31st from 10:00 AM till 1:00 PM, the Ohio State Fair will turn down the music and lights, as well as host a "Quiet Room" and educational activities in collaboration with the Ohio Center for Autism and Low Incidence.  The hope is that the Fair can be enjoyed by families and individuals that may otherwise avoid the annual event due to the over abundance of noises, flashing lights and high energy situations that may be uncomfortable or overwhelming for those with sensory or cognitive sensitivities.

It's that time of year again!  Those sleepy little towns along the Ohio & Erie Canalway start to wake up and celebrate their history and what makes them unique with "The Olde Canal Days" Festivals.  I grew up going to the one in Roscoe Village in Coshocton County, where my mom is from and where we lived for a few years as a kid, but of course the one in my adopted hometown of Canal Fulton is a much shorter drive these days, and it starts TONIGHT!

So much to do, so much to EAT and of course the Amusement Rides and Games and vendors and all the other stuff you expect and love at any small town fair or festival.

There will be Live Music, great foods of all kinds that it seems you can only find at these types of events, board the St. Helena III to trek down the Canal like they did many years ago, museum tours will be available and of course there will be a Grande Parade Saturday Morning and Fireworks on Saturday night... and the weather looks like it should cooperate for the better part of most of the 3 day event that runs July 11-13th.  See you there!
