The list of the top songs of the Summer was released, and 2 of them are songs you hear right here on WQMX! In fact, they are the #1 and #2 songs of the summer!
The 2nd biggest song of the summer is Shaboozey "A Bar Song (Tipsy)".
Can you guess? The biggest song of the Summer of 2024 is....Post Malone & Morgan Wallen "I Had Some Help".
Who woulda thunk it?!!! HAHA. I would consider that the song of the summer for sure! Congrats to all of the artists on the list. That is quite an accomplishment!
As you may have figured out - I was on vacation last week. I went to what I consider my 2nd home in Gatlinburg, TN. It was supposed to be an all friends vacation, but plans had to change. So it was my mom and I, one of my friends and his parents.
We had so much fun! Being that we stayed at our vacation house, there were other things to do as well. Trees to cut back, other gardening to do, we had to buy a new gas grill too.
My mom and I played 126 holes on miniature golf! Yes, 126! It was A LOT! My friend and I went to Dollywood on Friday, we all spent one day in the car driving through Cades Cove in the National Park. My mom and I rode one of the newer mountain coasters which was really fun!
We ate so much good food too of course! Including one dinner at Dolly's Stampede dinner show. I have eaten here a few times - if you have never been I HIGHLY recommend it.
While we were on the road, my mom and I saw cars from 38 states, Washington DC, and 2 Canadian Provinces! Around Gatlinburg we also saw close to 10 wild turkeys, 2 deer, 5 bears (my friend and his parents saw 8) and his parents also saw 2 elk! What's crazy is 3 of those bears we on our street or the next street over!
Now it's back home and back to work.
It is a WQMX Winner's Weekend! All weekend, listen for your chance to win tickets to see Scotty McCreery next week at the Stark County Fair!
He will be performing at the fair Thursday August 29th and we have your hookup into the show this weekend! Good luck from all of us at WQMX!
That's right! Keep It or Kick It makes a return engagement tonight during the New @ 9. You heard Cherise play Ernest's new song called "Would If I Could" during the Country Cafe today.
Tonight at 9:00, we will see what the nighttime crowd thinks of the new song. Once you hear the song in its entirety, vote either by phone call or text at 330-370-2000. Then at 9:50 find out if you the listeners decided to Keep It or Kick It!
I cannot decide. The past couple of days haven't been too bad. Today was better than Monday (with more sun), but still on the cool side.
I like Summer. I like the heat (just not the humidity). I also enjoy early Fall. It's still warm enough to have the windows open some days but the humidity goes away. I'm not ready to say goodbye to Summer and the heat, but these two days have felt nice. At the same time, I have been kind of chilly at the same time! Today, I'm wearing a fleece pullover!
I just don't think I'm ready for this yet, so I am happy it'll be back to warmth at the end of the week.
There are some more options coming to add to your collection of CD's, cassettes, vinyl, 8 tracks, or however you listen to your music these days.
1. Maddie & Tae will drop a new EP "What A Woman Can Do" on September 13th
2. Justin Moore's new album "This Is My Dirt" will be out on October 11th
3. Post Malone ALREADY released the deluxe version of his "F 1-Trillion" album called "F 1-Trillion: Long Bed" with 9 additional tracks. He did this almost immediately after releasing the regular version on Friday night.
Plus, don't forget that Thomas Rhett and his wife Lauren have the friendly competition going on to see if her Tennessee Orange version or his Georgia Red version of Rhett's album "About A Woman" will sell more copies. At the moment, Lauren is in the lead!
