Warm weekend, time to be outdoors.

The weekend is promising to be summer like finally!

The Cleveland Marathon is Sunday...Good luck to all the runners!

If you are like me, it's time for flowers!  My windowboxes have been empty too long.  This is my favorite time of year.

Buying flowers and coloring up the house and yard.  I can't imagine not having them.  The fun is each and every year I do something different.

I never know what my boxes will hold this summer..Get your hands dirty this weekend!

The picture is the flowers I planted down our boulevard last weekend, my yards turn now!

From the Bath Arts Fest to the Blue Tip Festival in Wadsworth, summer fun is set.

The Akron Arts Expo, one of the biggest, extended it's Tast of Akron to two nights before the event.

Check out the summer schedule in the Akron Beacon Journal's Pulse magazine at!

Another loss for our generation!

It was announce that Tim Conway has passed away due to dimentia.

I can remember oh so well watching the Carol Burnett show and all his crazy characters.

We laughed and laghed each and every week.  Never missed it.  The best was when they cracked each other up!

Did you have a favorite character?

Bike/Hike with CVSRR

It's starting this weekend.  The 2019 season for Bike/Hike withe Cuyahoga Valley Scenic RR.

Have you tried this?  Ride your bike along the Ohio and Erie Canal Towpath and then catch the train back!

The kids will love this.  Bikes are stored in the luggage car and cyclists ride in the passenger cars.

Even if you are hiking you can take advantage of special fares and enjoy the ride!

Try it!

Akron Marathon is looking for more than 2,000 volunteers for it's 2019 event that begin in June and end with the Marathon in September.

It's a great way to give back to community.  My son received service hours in high school by volunteering as well.

Earth Day hacks to replace plastics

I found a great article yesterday in the Parade Magazine of the Akron Beacon Journal.

The fact that many items we use CANNOT be recycled really bothers me.  The fact that

manufactureres and packagers do not come up with alternatives is another upsetting fact..

These items can help you reduce your own foot print on our planet.  I already have ordered

three of the items!

Glass water bottle over plastic.

Bamboo toothbrush   100% biodegradable

Wax Canvas Lunch Bag

Bees Wrap    replaces seran!!!!  Totally reusable!!

Bags and totes  to replace grocery bags seems so easy, yet  many do not use.

Synthetic sponges...The Unsponge  good for 4-6 months, wash and tumble dry  can be composted in small peices or taken to fabric bank.
