There is a new musical making its way toward Broadway – Dolly:An Original Musical. This is the story about her life and career spanning the last 60 plus years.

The show is going to debut in Nashville this Summer and run at Belmont University for 4 weeks. Then in 2026, it will move to Broadway in New York. Her story is so interesting from growing up in the mountains of East Tennessee with so many siblings, a father who couldn’t read or write, and a mother who always encouraged her singing.

She moved to Nashville right out of high school and was determined to make it. 60 years later, I think she has…lol. She has written so many songs, toured all over the world, been in a few movies. Is there something she can’t do?! This should be a very interesting and entertaining show. I hope it comes to Playhouse Square sometime!
