Kane Brown is a star. A star in country and he has crossed-over to pop, but he is in the driver’s seat. His success in country is clear and it is clear that he is not going anywhere. In October 2017, he became the first artist to have simultaneous number ones on all five main Billboard country charts. But, I was not so sure about this new kid at first…
I remember back in 2015, a guy named Kane Brown sold out back-to-back shows at the Dusty Armadillo and I had the following thought- who is Kane Brown???? Apparently, he had a huge following on social media, so I went to the show and well, I did not leave too impressed. I am just being honest. He was fine- ok. The people were happy.
Fast forward to him signing a record deal, going on a radio tour, working with some producers and everything changed for Kane. I clearly stand corrected. What do I know?!
Kane is shy in person, he is reserved and dare I say he in my opinion he comes across very humble. After the release of his debut album, Kane became the first artist to have simultaneous number ones on all five main Billboard charts. His songs don’t just go #1, they become some of the biggest country radio hits of the year.
Fast forward to him headlining his own arena tour a couple years ago. I go and am blown away. I went in with no expectations other than I knew he had a bunch of great songs, but this guy was great!
Now is a family guy, a married father of two daughters and a son and that just makes his appeal even greater. I follow him on socials and his videos with his family make your heart melt!
Kane is a force and I am glad we have him in country music. I am so glad the Dusty knew something I didn’t!
He likes to mix in 90s country with his sound, along with electronic sounds of Marshmello and it all works. Then he comes and hits us with his new single “Backseat Driver” and we are reminded that he is a country singer. That song is so sweet!
