WYNN - Eat Of The Week

Everyone says to eat salmon, it's good for you!  I have no doubt that's true!  But cooking it, well that can be a challenge to make it taste good.  So here you (we) go.  Let's give this a go! How To Cook Salmon (Yeah, Right!)
I wrote a multi-part series a number of months ago called, Were They or Weren't They?  I featured artists from our past that got a lot of country airplay on radio but were not really "Country."  I played all of them, and in case you missed it, let's take another look back and see who they are. Thanks for Reading! Were They OR Weren't They - Part 1 Were They OR Weren't They - Part…

Don't Get Me Started - Rhett Akins - 1996  - (Album - Somebody New) The 1990's were so jam packed with great stars and songs, it's hard to keep up with it all, but the Forgotten Jukebox is doing it's job today.  Rhett Akins (Thomas Rhetts dad) was and is still an incredible song writer. In the 90's he himself had a few hits, and I liked them all.  Many times in this crazy biz,…
Ronnie Milsap – Lost In The Fifties Tonight -  1985 As we inch towards the top of my Top 50 list, the really big songs are showing up. This song from Ronnie Milsap was one of his biggest hits and was universally loved by country fans and non country fans - and still is.  In an era when Country was still trying to decide which direction to go, this song towered over most that year. …

Wine Country  - Hannah Ellis GET YOUR TIX HERE TO SEE HER AS SHE DOES A CHARITY SHOW FOR US! There's a whole lot to like about Hannah Ellis.  And there is a lot to like about her new song, Wine Country.   In short, she has the right idea.  Hannah Ellis projects a very "country" image and sounds like she believes in herself and the music she's recording. I also love her absolute confidence…

She Couldn't Change Me - Montgomery Gentry - 2001  (Album - Carryin' On) This was by no means their first single, it was their 6th.  But this was the one that changed a lot of things for Montgomery Gentry in 2001. Their debut single in 1999, Hillbilly Shoes was a great song, but it may have been a bit too much for some. There were a few more with moderate success, then there was this. …
A few months ago I wrote an article about some of the "edgier" women of Country over the last few decades and a lot of people liked it. The good response tells me to share it again, and with me being on vacation this week, seemed like a good time to do so. Enjoy this - I loved writing it, brought back some great memories for me and hopefully for you too  - Country women…
Earl Thomas Conley - Fire And Smoke - 1981 He may be the quietest superstar we ever had.  ETC spent the entire 1980's and early 90's on top of the country charts setting records, and recording incredible music while scoring 20 #1 songs, most of anyone in the 80's.  And this was the start.  You can ask a whole lot of 90's stars and of today who one of their major influences was and ETC…
