The War and Treaty are a duo worth paying attention to! They are a husband and wife duo- Michael Trotter Jr. and Tanya Trotter. They are singer-songwriters and they can sing!

 

Fun facts- Michael is an army veteran and their name was inspired by something Tanya said to him after a small fight. 

 

They are clearly inspired by blues, gospel, soul, bluegrass and country, while drawing on folk, R&B and oftentimes combining them all- and they make it work!

 

The first time I heard them was at a showcase at a conference in Nashville and I was blown away. Then, they performed at the CMAs shortly after. I was mesmerized by how great they sounded and how well they harmonized. 

They are ones to watch for sure, and obviously ones to listen to!!!
