When I was but a little girl, I loved me some She-Ra Princess of Power! I watched the cartoons, I dressed up like her for I think 2 to 3 Halloweens, I had pajamas, I had the action figures- all of them. I have this vivid memory of playing with She-ra in my room and she was in big battle and I threw here in the air- because she was doing a big move with her sword- and well, I threw her higher and harder than I realized. I heard her hit the floor, but I did not see her. I could not find her.
I found my parents. They searched. My sister got in on the search. Nothing. Oh, not to worry they told me. She will turn up. She never did. We tore out the carpet in my room. Never found her. I moved out. Nope. My parents sold the house and moved. No She-Ra.
It became this running inside joke in our family- if you lost or misplaced something, it was with She-Ra. Where did she go? What happened to her?
Fast forward to over 35 years later and enter the Warren! He has heard this story many, many times. This past Christmas, as I was headed upstairs to get ready to go to my parents, he stops me and says- I think there is something in your stocking. I looked at him funny, but of course went to check. SHE-RA was in my stocking!!!! No, not the original, but still! I flipped out. She is worn or rather loved, no sword or head dress, but I have my girl back!
My sweet husband was shopping for baseball cards at a store that also has comics and toys and he saw She-Ra and he got her for me!!!!! The best all around! I took her to my parent’s house on Christmas Day and hid her and my family was so surprised!! We told the story again, and again Warren was all- I know! My dad even made her a sword out of a toothpick.
It is the little things. The Warren listened and ugh and love this!!!!!
