This song is about as big as any song, in any format can get.  When FGL burst upon scene with this, not only did it launch their incredible career, it started or at least firmly cemented the Bro Country Movement that lasted for a number of years.   With this song they also successfully invented a new sound, the FGL sound, and that’s tough to do.  This first project was done with an incredible amount of confidence that is darn rare in music.  Cruise spent 24 weeks at #1 on Hot Country Songs, becoming the longest-running #1 song on that chart at that time.  This was a world wide hit charting in virtually every country that has a chart.  It sold an untold millions with various versions in album and digital sales.  It is also one of the most influential songs of this century, as many other artists piled on the Bro Country band wagon, all the while FGL was behind the wheel of it.

ACM Single of the Decade   –  2019

I know they have detractors, but FGL  can’t be denied as they had and have millions upon millions of fans, and this song is loved and will be loved for eternity.  It quite frankly is one of music’s  –  any music’s biggest hits ever.
