When this was out, it was so popular it aired on tons of radio stations of all formats. It truly was a smash. This won Grammy’s, it won Country Music Awards, and it sold an untold millions. This is a perfect example of a song ending up exactly with the right artist. Her pure and gentle voice and demeanor brought real life to this incredibly written song, sung by an artist that was actually living out the song lyrics at that exact moment in time. Should be noted the group Sons Of The Desert provided incredible backing vocals here as well. This wonderful tribute to the relationship between parent and child spoke directly to anyone who has children in their lives, and communicated the words eloquently that maybe some want to say, but the finding those words is difficult. This song made every parent think of all the children in their lives lovingly. It also gave hope to those who are facing life’s more difficult challenges. A real positive song of hope and possibilities, with a powerful video. A big #1, and done about as perfectly as it could have been done. Truth is, hit songs regardless of format are seldom bigger than this one.
