Some songs when you hear them for the very first time, you know. You just know. This is one of those songs. I knew the first time I played this on the WQMX Morning Show, this was not just a hit, but a smash! This is just one of many in the career library of one of the most understated stars we have ever had, Rodney Atkins. He is one of those guys, when you look back you forget just how many great songs he’s had and you’re amazed. He has 6 #1 songs and a slew of top 5’s. This was a big #1, his second, and I am confident will be played on Country Radio for many more years to come. This has a very interesting story. His young son was going to school singing one of Rodney’s songs, If You’re Going Through Hell and Rodney had to explain that may not be the best song to sing in school. This is 100% relatable to every parent on the planet, in about every regard and because of that, this will remain timeless as will much of his music. What a remarkable song, by a truly quiet, and terrific artist. Three times Platinum. It’s one of the most loved songs of this new century.
