This emotional song was voted the #1 Sad Country Song by Rolling Stone Magazine years ago.  And they may be right.  This is the 3rd very sad song so far on this list as it joins Alyssa Lies at #47, and Whiskey Lullaby at #43.  Granted these are all very difficult songs, but they really hit and stick with country fans.  This big song from Martina stirred up emotions when it was out, as it again deals with exceedingly tough subject matter that resonated with many one way or another.  This was a special song beyond the story within the song.  Martina McBride was the absolute perfect artist for this, in my view she was the only choice and she is sensational here.   Her very passionate and powerful performance brings this to life, and along with Independence Day  8 years earlier this is the most poignant song of her incredible career.  As tough as this song is, when you perform songs this honest, they always find a following.  This very powerful video too was Grammy nominated, as it directed us to American Child Abuse Hotline.   (Read the comments on the video – Very Powerful)
