George Strait is one of the biggest stars we have ever had. I am proud to say I played every George Strait single as it was released in my career. His incredible 1980’s and 90’s are stuff legends are made of. He ran well into the new century and recorded some outstanding music, including, Cowboys Like Us, Give It Away, and tons of others, plus this really great one from 2011. Strait, over his run had 60 ish #1 songs, this song stopped at #2m but fans loved this and still do. Some thought he had lost a step or two, but this single showed he still had it, as this was multi-platinum and fans called for it over and over. One thing about this song is this. At that time, in an ever changing country music landscape with various trends all over the place, Strait recorded this song that was timeless, and would have been just as big a hit, in the 80’s and 90’s. He’s still incredible these days, with no new music airplay, he still manages to sell 110,000 tickets and sells out the biggest football stadiums across the nation. I just love this song, as do you, one of the great country songs of this new century. Long live the King!
