Terri Clark – I Just Wanna Be Mad – 2003 (Album –Pain to Kill)
I was and am a Terri Clark fan. I thought she was unique in the fact that she was very different than most of the other women of the 90’s and early 2000’s. She’s a hat act, and she is and was unapologetic-ally country. She was proud to be country and you loved that about her, there was no pop star agenda here. During her run, you knew when she was singing on the radio and that’s a big deal. This song was a little later in her chart run, but I feel this is one of her very best songs. It’s true and honest. This song was written with John Michael Montgomery in mind to record it, but he turned it down, as did Sara Evans later. This was a number one and fans love it, and its slick video, and this is perfect Terri Clark.
