Dreaming With My Eyes Wide Open – Clay Walker – 1994 (Album – Clay Walker)
Clay Walker made news last week when it was announced he would play Randy Travis in an upcoming movie about Travis. Walker is one of the underrated stars of the 1990’s. That decade was great for country, and even though many including Walker had huge success, it does make me wonder this. In another decade, would he have been even bigger? Possibly. 5 of his first 6 singles were #1 and his debut album is one of the great country projects of that remarkable decade. This song is really great, and I wish we heard it a little more these days, but it certainly is going to sound great here, in the Forgotten Jukebox. This is one of the best songs of the best decade.
