Earl Thomas Conley – Shadow Of A Doubt – 1991 – (Album – Yours Truly)
I have written before about Earl Thomas Conley. For those who remember his great run, he’s still a fav. If you are not familiar with him, real quick. In the 1980’s into the 1990’s he had as many #1 songs as anyone in any mind of music. He along with George Strait and Alabama were the biggest influences for the huge run of country stars that hit between 1989 and about 2005. Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan and Blake Shelton have made that public many times. (He’s the “ETC ” mentioned in Bryan’s new song) He was ground breaking and helped change the rules for country in sound and image. He had a string of 21 consecutive top tens starting in 1982, including 18 number ones. Time is not always kind to our stars, but that doesn’t change history. This song was closer to the end of his remarkable run. He’s worth a YouTube session and a Google. Read my full profile on him below.
