Lots of bantering this week about the Browns, Jimmy Haslam, the politicians and the proposed new dome in Brook Park.  It’s that, or a refurbished Browns Stadium on the lakefront.  Lots of barbs, lots of fighting in the media.  And for what?

This is NOT a written piece of YAY or NAY.  We can all feel the way we wish, but this is just the truth. The Dome is going to happen.   It’s just as simple as that.  Why?  Because we have a billionaire owner that WANTS it to happen. Again, it’s no more complicated than that.  He doesn’t want the stadium on the lake.  He’s made that clear in many ways.

One of the big areas of disconnect is over the Browns themselves.  Some Browns fans are saying that the team is bad and they don’t deserve a new stadium.  Yes, the Browns are bad that’s true.  But this stadium has very little to do with the Browns team at all.  That’s 10 Sundays a season.  Haslam is thinking about the other 355 days a year.   Sure he owns the Browns, but he really wants to own the dome, the parking, and being a landlord to surrounding businesses.

He wants a place that’s his, and he can build his sports empire and have his own castle right here in our area.   The lakefront stadium isn’t anything enough for what he wants to do.  So, all this political stuff is exactly that.  Is this the right thing?  Well, that’s for you to decide.

He’s already decided, yes it’s going to happen after we get through all the politics.  He has the money, it’s what he wants, it’s going to happen.
