Oak Ridge Boys – Touch A Hand, Make A Friend – 1985 – (Album – Step On Out)
With the Oaks performing at the Wayne County Fair this week this seems fitting. This was the ORB’s 13th number one song, and is one of my favorites from them. This was on my 50 Favorites From 40 Years list in 2023, at number 36. This to me, is what they do best. Songs that seems to have hint of gospel or spirituality to them. That is their roots, from their original formation in the 1940’s. But this formation of the ORB’s has been country focused since the late 1970’s, but they still have that gospel thread that runs through them at their core. This is a great song.
