Always one to give back to his Hometown, LeBron James made a trip back to Akron to unveil some new additions and improvements at his "I Promise" School on West Market street on Wednesday.

A media lab, a family training center, a family resource wing and an area called “believers bend”, which highlights the achievements of some of history's biggest underdogs, were among the new additions inside the facility, but the highlight of the day was outside:  An updated and state-of-the-art Basketball Court!

LeBron and the rest of the "Fab Five" (his former high school teammates from St.V) along with Head Coach Dru Joyce were all on hand to help christen the court with a 5 on 5 game against the kids.

It was announced on Tuesday that Michigan-based Beaumont Health and Akron's Summa Health have signed a "Letter of Intent" to bring the two healthcare systems together under Beaumont Health.

Summa employs nearly 7000 Ohioans and officials say that local leadership will continue as this arrangement is expected to help with expansion and growth, as well as to better serve patients in both states.

If you're participating in Akron's curbside Recycling Program, well I hope you are doing it right!  Starting this week, if  you see someone nosing around in your Recycling Bin at the curb, you have nothing to worry about... as long as there are no "contaminants" in yours.  Things like yard waste, food, plastic bags and several other things that are a big no-no in the recycle bin can get you a warning for your first and second offences, and a third violation will result in your bin being taken away.  Officials from 'Keep Akron Beautiful' say it isn't a punishment and won't affect most residents, but repeat offenders and those intentionally using the bins for things like construction waste are the reason for this new system.  For more on the new program, CLICK HERE for more from News 5 Cleveland.

Its always great to see kids interacting with Officers of the Law in a fun and educational setting.  The good folks at FOX 8 Cleveland did this great piece about dozens of Police Officers, Deputies and Troopers from the Akron Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol and departments as far away as Columbus, all with very diverse stories of how they got to where they are now, congregated at Helen Arnold Community Learning Center to hang out with a group fo their Fifth Grade Students and to promote positive life choices.  THANK YOU to all of our Law Enforcement Professionals and First Responders for all the selfless things they do every day!
