One of the best performances of the night came when Tracy Chapman joined Luke Combs on stage to perform their chart topping hit "Fast Car."
Luke Combs had asked fans to help him decide his next single, it was up to "Love You Anyway" and "5 Leaf Clover", and the fans have spoken. His next single will be the former of the two choices.
He announced the winning song at his show in Nashville over the weekend telling the crowd, "So, about a week and a half ago, I guess. I announced that I was going to let you guys decide what my next single was going to be at country radio. And we had a vote. You could vote on Love You Anyway or 5 Leaf Clover. Which one you wanted me to put out to the radio and it was real close. I think it was 51%-49% So it was neck in neck. But the song we’re about to play you right now is the winner. I got my friend Wes from Flatland Calvary on the fiddle playing for us. So yeah, this is my next single at country radio it’s called Love You Anyway."
Luke said about his next radio single, "Love You Anyway is a song that I wrote on my porch with Dan Isbell, Ray Fulcher and I had been on stage Valentine’s Day of 2020 right before COVID happened. And my wife was sick and was on the bus. She was out with us, but she was on the bus, I believe, and I didn’t know at the time if she was in there or not. And so as I was introing another song, I said, you know, I don’t I don’t know if you’re in here, but I love you anyways. And my buddy Dan had wrote that down and we ended up writing it a few months later."

Chris said in his story behind the song video that the song is a "super special love song" about his wife Kelly and that "at the end of the day like the song says, really nothing else matters. As long as we have our health and our happiness and our love. And we do. And I'm grateful for that."
This morning, Scott and Sarah premiered the next single from Cole Swindell, which we played again in the WQMX Country Cafe! Oh and we'll play it again tonight during New at Nine with Rachel Evans! "Going, Going, Gone" was co-written by Luke, Ray Fulcher, and James McNair, and is his third single from his album Growin' Up. The ballad is a different take on a heart-break song, it's about to happen, the girl he is singing about is going to disappear and there is no way to stop her. The relationship just isn't meant to be and he knows it.
Luke Combs debuted a new song at the CMA's this past November called "Doin' This". So that may be where you've heard this new one from Luke before.
