Kid Rock will serve as host for a five-day block of Johnny Cash-themed programming on CMT, which will rename itself Cash Music Television for the occasion.

The marathon will kick off on September 8th with the Oscar-winning 2005 bio-pic Walk the Line, 

followed by an all-Cash "Throwback Thursday" dedication and a Cash-focusedCMT All-Time Top 40: Artist's Choice. Things will wrap up with the airing of a new documentary called Johnny Cash: 

American Rebel, which includes interviews from the music legend's children, friends, family and peers. 

The windup airs on September 12th, the 12th anniversary of Cash's death.

Looks like Garth Brooks's "Friends in Low Places" will be getting the all-star treatment. 

A source tells Billboard that for the song's 25th anniversary, Garth has gathered some friends in high places -- including George Strait,Florida Georgia Line, Jason Aldean and Keith Urban -- to update the song. 

No word on whether the new version will include the mystery verse that appears on Garth's Double Live album.

All signs are pointing to a romance between Brett Eldredge and Victoria's Secret model Jessica Hilbert.

Lady Antebellum have been at it for almost 10 years now pretty much with out a break -- except forHillary Scott's maternity leave a few years back -- and they could use a vacation.

After their Wheels Up Tour lands, they'll be taking a break to breathe and write some songs for their next 

album. The gift of time will especially be welcome for Charles Kelley and his wife, who are expecting a child 

early next year. 

Not only has Jennifer Nettles signed a shiny new record deal with Big Machine --  she will have a new single out in October and a new album next year. In the meantime, she will

launch the Playing With Fire tour this fall with openers Brandy Clark and Ryan Kinder.

Carrie Underwood made her big announcement yesterday. 

She told fans that she'll release a new album called Story Teller on October 23rd. The first single from the album 

is "Smoke Break." Carrie says she and her cowriters stumbled onto the song when they were struggling with coming 

up with ideas. They decided to step outside to take a "smoke break," and thought that would be a great title for a song. 

Do blondes really have more fun? Miranda Lambert is testing out the theory with a trip to the salon. 

She posted a photo on Facebook with the caption, "What doesn't kill you only makes you blonder." 

Miranda will show off her new 'do will see travels with her Roadside Bars and Pink Guitars tour that

 features all girls: Ashley Monroe, RaeLynn, and Claire Dunn.

Love corn mazes? Love Garth Brooks? Then you might want to plan a visit to Govin's Farm in Menomonie, 

Wisconsin, where they've carved a Garth maze out of 11 acres of corn.
