Sears at Belden Village Mall in Canton is closing by January. It is an end of an era! Sears has been a flagship store since the mall opened in 1970.

Rumors started swirling when the 2nd floor and half of the first floor closed for remodeling for the brand new Dave and Busters. We all thought the remainder of the first floor would stay open as Sears. We all found out this week we were wrong.

The new thing to do is online shop. I will admit, I am a fan of it. I will also admit that I still shop at Sears from time to time. My parents love Sears from the clothes to every appliance they own. I can remember growing up and shopping there all the time from back to school and loving when they had a food counter. They had the best frozen cokes ever! Times do change and online shopping is not only affecting local businesses, but now big retailers too.

I stopped into the Sears store yesterday. The mood is sad, but the aisles are busier. The sales are big- up to 30% off and yes, all sales are final. I bought a pink sweater. The lady at the register said, “What a nice sweater that you can remember Sears by.” That made me sad. She seemed sad. I will miss you Sears- for nostalgic reasons and I always parked near Sears and then cut through the store to get to the rest of the mall, but I usually ended up buying something!

Carrie Underwood talks CMAs…

The first round of performers for the CMA Awards has been announced.
Taking the stage will be Eric Church, Luke Combs, Miranda Lambert, Reba McEntire, Maren Morris, Dolly Parton with For King and Country and Zach Williams, Pink with Chris Stapleton, Carrie Underwood and Keith Urban.
More performers and presenters will be announced soon. 

Carrie Underwood is gonna keep talking about the CMAs- mainly because she is hosting the award show and because she really wants to win the CMA's Entertainer of the Year award. But she's up against some major competition from Garth Brooks, Eric Church, Chris Stapleton and Keith Urban.
She said, "It's not the end-all, be-all, but of course I'd be lying if I said I didn't want it. Sorry boys!"
Could this be Carrie’s year? She was nominated once before in 2016 and there hasn’t been a female winner since 2011 when Taylor Swift won. The 53rd annual CMA Awards, hosted by Carrie, Reba McEntire and Dolly Parton, air live from Nashville on November 13th on ABC.

Blake Shelton revealed the cover art and tracklisting for his new album, Fully Loaded: God’s Country. 
The 12-song record will come out on December 13th. It is mix of 5 new songs including God’s Country and his latest single with Trace Adkins- Hell Right along with 7 of his old favorites including I’ll Name the Dogs, Came Here to Forget, Guy With a Girl, I Lived It and Nobody But You.

Maren Morris announced on her social media yesterday that she and her husband, fellow county singer Ryan Hurd are expecting their first child together.

She wrote, “The irony is just too much that after a year of living in the GIRL headspace, the universe would give us a baby boy to even things out. See you in 2020, little one.”
She also posted a sweet picture of herself, Ryan and the baby bump.
