Meet Milo. What a sweet, sweet boy. Milo is on the larger size weighing in at about 65-70 pounds. He’s active so he wants to have fun and to live with a pet-parent that will embrace his energetic self. There is nothing wrong with him … it’s called youth. Milo wants to know love and security and he deserves it. Because of his size, age and need for “a job,” this young boy has been passed over for far too long. The kennel environment can make a human – with reasoning skills - go crazy … so, we can only ever imagine what a dog living in a cell must feel like. Don’t delay … give Milo a LIFE today!!!
Note: Please keep in mind that all adoptable pets need time to decompress once they enter a home. For some it will happen quickly and for others it might take a few weeks. You'll want to be understanding of what they have been through and their level of insecurity. We ask that you treat all of them as if they were an 8 week old puppy. Assume they know nothing and begin at step one. You'll soon know what they are capable of and what behaviors you will need to "kindly" work on with your new family member. It's called commitment! And, that's what these pets want more than anything!
Gotta love a Beagle ... we do! They are fun and ornery and they will entertain you forever. They are perfect in size and in temperament. And, most people don't know that they are the best cuddle bugs ever! Ella is no exception... she is a great little dog and will do fine in any home - busy or quiet. Because she is perfect in size - and cute too - she won't be here long. Containment is Key to keeping them safe because a Beagle's nose will take them just about anywhere. And that is probably why she ended up here. Don't delay ... adopt Ella today!

Meet this beautiful, medium-size girl. Maxine is a sweet dog and is high energy. She will be perfect in an active home that will protect her with containment until she matures. We see her as a running companion and a hiker. This girl is bright-eyed and bushy tail! She is of mix-breed but her looks clearly favor a “white” shepherd. We loved her in the photo-shoot and you will too!

Meet Hercules …
Hercules is barely and adult dog. And look what somebody did to his ears with scissors! What are people thinking??? I will tell you …
If anyone knows this so-called breed, they know these dogs prefer YOU over any toy or treat and with YOU is right where they want to be. These terriers are labeled because of a set of physical characteristics and were the Golden Retriever of the 1960s. Do you remember Petey in The Little Rascals? Petey was of the Pit Bull family. All dogs need kind and patient training to become the pet that they were born to be - and training at any age is an advantage to some extent. Like the many others in the shelter, our terriers show some concern for their where-abouts and want to go home. Many of them are quite young and still have a lot of living to do. Can they do it with you? Don't delay ... let's not leave these loving and deserving dogs in the shelter another day : (.

Are you 55 years or older? You (and these two deserving dogs) may qualify for a grant funding the adoption of senior pets. Call 330.760.0763 to inquire. This boy should not have to endure this ... what a great dog he was in his photo-shoot! What are people thinking??? Dropped off at the shelter after giving many years of his life as a faithful companion. Unbelievable!
He’s a good boy and he has the typical appeal that all deserving dogs have ... soft fur, sweet eyes, irresistible ears and because of this unfortunate turn of events, some very, very concerned behaviors. Panting and shaking in his kennel, you get the impression that his days are filled with stress. Removed from the kennel and given space and attention, Franklin responds immediately with love. This big boy is nervous and concerned about his future. In fact, at this point he lacks confidence. Once in a house and use to a couch, this senior dog should not have to find himself in a shelter in his golden days.

This dog is perfect. There is nothing more unfair than a dog sitting in a shelter in his/her golden years – maybe even their golden days. Once use to a house and a couch, we can only imagine their state of mind to find themselves here. A dog that appears to be in the mid-point of their life can sport a gray or white muzzle and actually be younger than they appear - and more playful than you might think. We do our best guess at age; however, our hope is that it doesn't preclude them from the perfect home that will offer them love and security for the rest of their days. They deserve that.

Grace is one Gentle Giant as young dogs go! We believe her to be less than 1 year old. She is definitely concerned for her where-abouts in the shelter and she appears very timid. She cowers if you come over head which leads me to believe that she may have been dealt with harshly. She loved to be cuddled and grew in her confidence as she felt safe with us during her photo-shoot. She takes treats gently and has the most huggable demeanor. Just because she is a big girl doesn’t mean that we can expect mature behaviors from her. She’s still young and unsure of herself. Grace needs your love and kind teachings to become the dog that she was born to be. We loved working with her .. and you will too.
