WYNN - BROWNS - Mismanaged Yet Again

SW small Logo We Browns fans are a tough bunch.  It seems every week we have to watch this organization blow another winnable game in new and inventive ways.  But it all comes down to one guy. The guy at the top, Kevin Stefanski.

His continued arrogance and smartest guy in the room mentality is killing this season. We can talk about the late interception in the end zone all day long.  The QB is who he is, he's a career backup who has limitations.  He has played quite well, but he's a career backup for a reason.  Asking him to make a play at games end is ridiculous when there were plenty of other ways to go.  A field goal more than likely wins the game if you manage it right.

Run the ball, keep the clock moving, or make LA use time-outs.  You have great running backs that don't fumble, and are very dependable. If you don't score, kick a chip shot field goal and take the lead.  Pretty simple stuff.  There's only one thing you can't do. Turn it over - he did.  But he NEVER should have been put in that position. In fact, just the opposite.  The last two minutes again - amateurish.  The end of that game looked more like they were trying to win a Beer League Game on a Saturday afternoon, and nothing like a professional NFL game and coach.

THEN LA tries to GIVE you the game for some other stupid reason on their part, and you don't take advantage and you lose on a missed 54 yard field goal at home.  Not the biggest offense either. But the missed 43 yarder earlier in the game by your new shiny kicker certainly is, and again, cost you the points to win.  Should be noted that the teams the Browns have squeaked by are combined 2-8.

The worst rushing team in the NFL ran it down your throat all day long too. Second week in a row. The word is out and so is the film from Atlanta.  The Browns are too small at linebacker and too physically weak up the middle, and teams are gonna do it till we stop it, but you can't get bigger in 7 days.  Again too, the Browns defensive "stars" didn't make a play pretty much all day.  It's going to get worse there too.  Even with the big guys back, we are movable, and the great players maybe aren't so great, because when it matters, they don't make big plays.  Player decisions are made in the summer too, by the coach and others.  Fast is great, but small where it matters isn't.

Much has been made about giving up the big play late in games, and this week we didn't.  But we also didn't make a big play late in the game that mattered and good teams do that too.  It's time to face the facts, there are things we do very well. But there are many things we don't do weekly.  And it cost us yet another game.

This one sits with the coach much like the Jets game by tripping over your own shoelaces again. This team needs a game manager on the field. We are a miracle kick from being 1-4, and now that guy has the shanks.  Stefanski knows offense there is no doubt, but he does not know how to win when it is winning time.

This is nothing new, and in fact, it's getting old

Throwback Anniversary

Today's Throwback just made sense.

Everyday at 3:20, I play 'The Throwback Song of The Day'...

If you have a song top of mind, let me know, I might be able to get it on for you.

Call/Text it into the Cricket Wireless Studioline 330-370-2000 or email me at bThis email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Today Brooke said, she loved this one when it first came out and still does to this day!  I'm not gonna say all the Throwbacks are as timeless as this one.  I did play 'Achy Breaky Heart' on Monday.   Today, being Tim McGraw and Faith Hill's 26th Anniversary, it just seemed to check all the boxes.

Here was Tim's ode to Faith, also...

Country newcomer Mackenzie Carpenter has released her debut single to country radio, "Huntin' Season". It's a fun song that gives a new perspective on hunting season, and her love for it for completely different reasons than you'd think. She's also been waiting for hunting season, so she can spend that free time doing things like shopping online, drinking wine, binge watching TV, and have alllll the fun!

You may have heard one of Mackenzie's songs before, she was a co-writer with Lily Rose on "Villian".

New Music From Breland: For What It's Worth

Tonight's New at 9 'New Song Spotlight' is from Breland, it's the lead single from his album Cross Country called "For What It's Worth". Breland says this song is about holding yourself accountable for misgivings in a relationship. A lot of break up songs say, ‘I miss you’ but rarely say ‘I hope you’re happy now'.

Breland was featured on Dierks Bentley's "Beers On Me" along with HARDY, which they all had a hand in writing and it became Breland's first #1 single.

Go Guards!

Well that was fun!  The Guardians regular season 92-70.

Back in April, most if not all believed with the youngest team, low budget way of doing things meant bad news for the Guardians.

Signing Jose Ramierez was huge...  This team did as Jose did and believed in themselves just as Skipper Terry Francona did!

-The pitching staff is lights out.

-The Closer has absolutey filthy stuff.

-Jose Ramierez is steady as they come, should be considered for MVP.

-While Steven Kwan is my choice for Rookie Of The Year. What a spark plug!

-They are going to be a tough out... they were something like 24-10 over their last games since Sept. 21st... the hottest team since Labor Day!

Now Friday-Sunday they will battle the Tampa Rays to keep this magical season going.

Friday and Saturday, Games 1 and 2 are at 12:07pm.  The Sunday Game if needed is at 4:07pm.  The best of 3 series should be one for the ages.

Fans represent at Progressive this weekend and beyond... GO GUARDS!!!

Since Tom Hanks threw out the 1st pitch at the Home Opener with Wilson from Castaway...

Maybe David Pumpkins should throw out the 1st pitch of the October Game 1 playoffs... (probably not!)

A trip back in time to 1620

My mom and I spent a couple hours one afternoon in Plymouth,MA - the site of the pilgrim landing in 1620. We saw the Mayflower II docked in port, a reproduction of the original from the 1600's. It was built in England in the '50s and then sailed to Massachusetts just like in 1620! We stopped at Plymouth rock and heard a park ranger talk about the reasons the pilgrims came to America and what they had to contend with once they got here.

It amazed me, because now the rock is honestly not much to look at. The ranger told us that is because it's now about 1/3 of the size it was 400 years ago!

Next we took a self guided audio tour of the Plymouth shoreline and important sights in town. That was a nice way to see Plymouth and get my steps in for the day :). Not surprisingly, Plymouth is a cute and quintessential example of a New England town.

Carly Pearce Pays Tribute to Dear Miss Loretta

Carly Pearce was scheduled to play the Grand Ole Opry last night, and upon the news of Loretta Lynn passing away at the age of 90, she posted this tweet:

During her set, Carly played a voicemail she had gotten from Loretta last year for the audience, then played her song "Dear Miss Loretta". Watching this I had goosebumps, some tears, and yes, the voicemail did make me smile, I can only imagine being in the audience! What a beautiful way to honor one of the Grand Ole Opry's most beloved and iconic members, Loretta Lynn.

The city where every day is Halloween

This past Friday, my mom and I visited Salem,Massachusetts...it DID NOT disappoint! It was September 30th, so everything AND EVERYONE were all decorated for Halloween, but without all of the parking restrictions and INSANE crowds - that started the next day...LOL. We took a trolley tour around town and saw a few of the sights that were used in the filming of 'Hocus Pocus'. We learned more about the witch trials of 1692, saw some important landmarks having to do with the trials and visited the Witch Museum.

Some of the architecture there is indeed from the 1600's. Salem is quite impressive and you can easily spend 2 days there seeing everything it has to offer. One thing I learned is they take witches seriously there! Just like Roswell,NM has alien heads for street lights, Salem has a witch sitting on a broom on the doors of their police cars and the shoulder patches of the police uniform. I love it!
