Today is Monday, April 22nd- It IS - Earth Day, Jelly Bean Day

This weekend was the worst Easter Weekend at the movies in over a decade…

The Ohio man who gave up everything but beer for Lent wound up losing 40 pounds.

78% of Americans live paycheck to paycheck and another survey found that only 40% of Americans would be able to cover a $1,000 emergency expense.

You spend about 18 full days in your car every year.

Seems a clean house is a major turn on for most of us.

The average “well done” Promposal cost about $300.

4680 speeding tickets are written every hour in the US!

First, we have to flashback to March 5th when Little Big Town invited Kelsea Ballerini to become a member of the Grand Ole Opry. After Kelsea's performance, Little Big Town took to the stage to close out the show and invited her back on stage to sing "Girl Crush" with them. The lyrics changed just slightly at the end, watch the moment again below:

Second flashback is this past Tuesday (April 16) when Kelsea officially became the newest and youngest member of the Opry, being inducted by Carrie Underwood. Not only did Carrie officially introduce and induct her, but they sang a duet together. Check out their cover of this Trisha Yearwood classic, "Walkaway Joe"!

Congratulations again to Kelsea Ballerini, it is quite an honor and accomplishment to be a member of the Grand Ole Opry!

We Are A #NonPeepShow

Over 1.5 billion Peeps will be consumed this Easter.

I don’t get it. I find them to be rather disgusting. I don’t mind marshmallows. What I mind is marshmallows covered in furry, fuzzy-like sugar glitter. Just ew! People enjoy them when they are stale. To that I say, why would leaving something out for a few days, thus making them stale, in turn make them better? That makes no sense to me.

They certainly are cute, totally fun to look at. That makes them a decoration, not food. They belong in the trash in my book, not in Easter baskets.

If Peeps float your boat, more power to you! I believe that stat should be altered- 1.5 billion Peeps will be purchased this Easter. Not everyone is eating those cute, little Marshmallow impostors ;)

Thomas Rhett’s new album comes out next month…

Rascal Flatts' Jay DeMarcus's memoir, Shotgun Angels: My Story of Broken Roads and Unshakeable Hope, hits shelves this month.
Jay says, “In Shotgun Angels, readers will hear never-before-told stories and get a glimpse into what it was like for me coming from Columbus, Ohio, my journey to Nashville. My ultimate goal is that the book will encourage people that no matter where they are in their lives, they can find hope, comfort and strength in their faith.”
The book comes out on April 30th.

Thomas Rhett releases his fourth album, Center Point Road, next month.
He says the project is inspired from Center Point Road in the town of Hendersonville, Tennessee, where he grew up.
The album features collaborations with Little Big Town, Kelsea Ballerini and Jon Pardi and it comes out on May 31st. Thomas is set to kick off his tour next week and he will be at The Country Fest on June 22nd.

Tonight during Trending Tracks, we featured this bit of country music history for you! It was on this day sixteen years ago that Dierks Bentley made his debut at the Grand Ole Opry singing his debut single "What Was I Thinkin'" from his self titled debut album! This song was also his first #1 single reaching the top of the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart in September of 2003. Just two years later in 2005, Dierks was invited by Marty Stuart to join the Grand Ole Opry and he was inducted as a member on October 1st singing "Come A Little Closer" during the cerermony.

Take a look at Dierks' time with the Grand Ole Opry here

All About Easter Eggs...

I offered up a couple more "Easter Themed" Texter's Choice questions on Wednesday, April 17th and Thursday, April 18th...and the results we're not even close to evenly split! Wednesday's question was: Do you still color Easter eggs? Keep in mind, I said this would be a question primarily for those households with children. Overwhelmingly, 79% said YES! Only 21% said they do not. Then Thursday I asked, "Which of these Easter "eggs" would you prefer?" A Cadbury Creme Egg or A Reese's Peanut Butter Egg. Reese's Peanut Butter Eggs won in a landslide 82% to just 18% for the Cadbury Eggs. How would YOU answer? Check out my daily "Texter's Choice" question every afternoon on WQMX at around 3:53pm...and hear the results when I announce them at 4:23pm! And make sure YOU vote everyday with our Studio Text Line (Powered by Discount Outlet) at 330-370-2000.
