WYNN QUOTES - Only Humans Can Be Kind

“When you part with someone, they should always feel better than when you greeted them.”

This may seem like a lofty goal, but in essence, treat people kindly. Or maybe beyond kindly. I heard once that kindness is uniquely human, as people are the only things that can be kind. Things, places, animals can be nice, only humans have the ability to be kind. There may be a loophole you may think of somehow, but overall I feel this to be true.

In my profession I feel it is an immense part of my charge to make people feel happy. I learned years ago that people like to hear their name in conversation. Questions make people feel important as it shows them you are interested in who they are, or what they do. That many times, quietly makes people very happy, valued. And in other cases, some can’t hold it in when you hit just the right chord with them, and they instantly let you know you made their day. A handshake, smile, eye contact, it all adds up to making people feel more important than they did 5 minutes ago as a stranger, or neighbor. And that is a gift one can give all.

And with the people we love too. We all would like to think that they look greatly forward to seeing us every time, and value the kindness that brought you together in the first place. The best way to make sure this happens, is to make sure they know that’s how you feel – about them. Kindness is inherit in all of us I feel. We long for it, and maybe we long to be kind more than we may outwardly know.

If you do – be brave. Be what you crave.

MOVIE REVIEWS - New This Week!

The Avengers dominated the box office again with 150 million more dollars.  Let's see how the new flicks are this week!

Long Shot  (Review)

This had the formula to be really funny, and fun. This stars Charlize Theron and Seth Rogen in a classic "She's out of my league film."  She is a high roller, and he is just a sloppy dude, and somehow they find each other set up for romance.

There is much to like here, like Theron's great performance, and the formula in general.  Rogen is very good in some aspects of this movie, and boring and lazy in others.  His man-child characters have a certain appeal, but the same language, and virtually the same gags, and middle school humor is wearing thin.  He just can't seem to help himself selling out to the lowest common denominator of humor instead of being funny in a new, or creative way. And even though he does things here very well he's not really done before, he drops the ball when he decides it's more fun to make 6th graders laugh.

I think every guy has felt this at one time or another in their life.  Whether its accurate or not in reality, guys can sometimes find themselves on a date with someone they feel is out of their league.  And many times you find yourself surprised to who you are attracted to. So the formula is here for a high level of truth and should be lauded. This is Pretty Woman in reverse so to speak, but there is enough difference and time lapsed to make it on it's own.

Rogen has a good idea here, and a strong co-star.  This is not a bad movie at all.  But it is a opportunity missed I feel, to make something legit and very different, and still funny.

The Intruder   (Review)

OK, this is terrible.   Dennis Quaid stars a creepy dude that sells his house to a nice young couple but can't seem to let go of the past or the house.  So he terrorizes them.  How Quaid got tangled up in this mess of a movie is beyond me.  This could be one of the worst scripts I have had to labor through in a long while.  Horrible story, terrible dialogue, characters that are so incredibly clueless, it's laughable.  Hey, I've got an idea. CALL THE POLICE!  This doesn't dawn on these people for the entire movie.  So instead they put up with this  "Intruder" for one hour and 40 minutes of manure filled film.

This will be on many critics radar as one of the years worst.

This month at Dairy Queen you can get a flight of Blizzards! As in 3 mini Blizzards of your choice. This changes everything!

Also a game changer- I can finally try the Nerd Blizzard. Never had the nerve. I mean you go to DQ to get your go tos- the Oreo, the Butterfinger, the Reese’s even the Heath, but I have always wondered if the Nerd Blizzard is any good. With this flight idea- I can get my faves and try the Nerds now! Ha!

Blake Shelton is expanding his brand…
Carrie Underwood talks more kids…

Blake Shelton is expanding his Ole Red empire to include The Doghouse, a music venue at his Oklahoma location.
The grand opening will be celebrated for a week later this month. Luke Bryan and Blake will be on hand to perform.
The venue will host Thursday night jams, Friday night concerts and Wednesday night dance parties. No word yet on if his other Ole Red locations will be adding a music venue.

I have the answer to a question we have all been asking ourselves- does Carrie Underwood have plans on have another kid?? Not just yet…
She recently said, "You know, it's such a difficult road to get where we are now. And I'll have to evaluate after this tour is over. Then we can talk about what's next. But I've been a lot of kind of live in the moment lately."
Carrie and hubby Mike Fisher welcomed their second son, Jacob three months ago.
Her Cry Pretty 360 tour opened last night in North Carolina and stops at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in Cleveland on October 16th.
