Memorial Day weekend is here!

This is one of my favorite weekends of the year! It is of course the unofficial start of Summer, and there is so much to look forward to over the next few months. I enjoy the warmer weather and really, we are just at the beginning!

I hope you have a fun filled weekend with friends and family. Make sure you spend time doing the things you enjoy.

Have a great long weekend. If you are travelling, be safe and good luck that nothing goes wrong :)

The Nightlight Cinema on High St in Downtown Akron is growing! They are about to celebrate 10 years and just in time, they are adding a 2nd screen!

Not only that, but also being added is a bar and a film library! This is great news for something local right here in our backyard to be able to expand and serve the community even more! The Beacon Journal has all the details spelled out in the article here.

Across the pond they will go

Brothers Osborne will be playing Jacobs Pavilion for their "Might As Well Be Us" tour on June 29th. If you would rather have a more...exotic place to see them, maybe I have an idea.

The brothers will begin 2025 on the road going through the UK and Ireland! They will begin the European leg January 17th in Dublin and finish January 30th in London. They also plan to hit places like Belfast, Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham and more!

If you've needed an excuse to get to the UK, here is a possibility.

Ideas for Summer fun

With Memorial Day being the unofficial start of Summer, this is the time of year where we REALLY begin to look for ideas to get us out of the house and be active.

The City of Akron has a few ideas for you! Head down to Cascade Plaza downtown and take part in many of the activities being put on by the Downtown Akron Partnership. There is something for just about everyone, so definitely check it out!

Good luck!!!

Check this out for sure!

Here at WQMX, we send you to Port Clinton quite often with tickets to the African Safari Wildlife Park.

They have just announced they are adding the world's largest rodent - the Capybara to their walkable safari beginning in June! We have a certain co-worker here at the station who I'm sure will be first in line!!!

Check out the details here.

The Think Pink Party

One of the best parts of this job is getting to hang out with you, the listeners as well as meeting the artists we play everyday in person.

Lat night at The Knight Stage, we did both! It was such a nice evening for great music by these two artists (who both sounded AWESOME) with the best listeners in the area! You helped us raise a lot of money for breast cancer which is a big help to so many people.

Not only that, I have to mention how nice of an evening it was outside for the walk to and from the venue! No cold, blowing winds...it was sunny and warm! Hope to see you next year!

Congrats to Jelly Roll!

Big props to Jelly Roll! He just completed a 5K race that he has been training for. That is quite an accomplishment!

Not only that, but in the process he lost another 50 pounds in his weight loss journey! Which is totally amazing! Of course his biggest chearleader was his wife Bunnie XO. Maybe now that he has completed that one, let's get him to sign up for our 5K race this Fall! What do you think?!
