Today was hard!

Now, I was not sleeping outside, but I had a very difficult time this morning...let me tell you!

I first woke up around maybe 8:30 straight out of a dream. That meant I was dead tired! So I was able to go back to sleep. Then, I woke up again around 10:00. Again, straight out of a dream! UGH!!!! Tried to go back to sleep for a bit, then decided just to head down to the couch about 11:00 since it was getting close to lunch for Buttercup. I was still so tired, I could barely keep my eyes open.

I fed the cat, then went to the couch...back to sleep because I was that tired. I slept until 2:00 this afternoon! Only then was I ready to get up for the day. I hate these days where I keep waking up directly out of a dream and then I am so tired to start the day until I have had a little more sleep. Hopefully you were more awake than I was this morning - especially on another beautiful day.

Yay. It's Tax Day

It is just after 6pm on Tax Day as I write this. I hope you have everything ready to go and in the mail, e-filed, etc. If you are getting money back...congratulations! It's almost a feeling like hitting the lottery. If you owe money, I'm sorry. I hope it's not too much.

This has been a different tax season for me than ever before. More complicated, more stressful, everything. Always before, my return was very straight forward and simple from what I'm told (I do not do my own taxes). But this year things have changed to where most things were still the same, but there were some differences to complicate things.

No matter what, I am done, I hope you are too, and we can all breathe a sigh of relief - espcially tax professionals who will now be coming out of their busy season rather soon!

Hardy is branching out

If Micahel Jordan's or LeBron James' shoes were too expensive for you, take a look at these.

Hardy has joined forces with the Floafers Loafers company to create his own shoe line. The 1st edition of the shoes have artwork from "The Mockingbird & The Crow" album on them!

He says he got the idea for them in a very simple way. He was out on the golf course with a friend one day who was wearing Floafers! Hardy saw them, and decided it was time for a partnership to happen.

We have reached that time of year

Sunday afternoon, I finally did it for the first time this season - cut my grass. It had really been needing it too! Some parts of my yard were starting to look like a jungle!

I am not the biggest fan of the chore. I find it to be just that - a chore to do. I am not exactly sure why. It gets me more steps in for the day, and I have a pretty small yard. I have a push mower and can cut the front AND back yard in just about 30 minutes.

I guess I just don't usually want to take the time to do it then smell like grass and have to shower afterwards. Either way, it's something we will need to be doing like it or not for about the next 6 months. :/

Happy birthday Eric!!!...MAYBE

Today is my birthday. A couple weeks ago I scheduled routine maintenance for my car for today - oil change/tire rotation. I also mentioned I have been hearing a noise that sounded like it was coming from the left front tire area.

I get the call later with the diagnosis - I need a new transmission! YAY!!! On my birthday no less. At least they tell me it's covered under my warranty. I should have a rental tomorrow. I hope. I also hope I am able to get my car back sooner than later.

What a sight!

A friend of mine from High School texted me last week and asked if I wanted to go with him to check out the eclipse. I said, sure why not!

We went to the Akron Art Museum and the events they had going on there. We started out having lunch downtown at El Patron which was quite yummy! Then, we walked over to the museum and toured the galleries for a bit. We stopped in the gift shop as well, then he got a drink - they were serving some food and cocktails/mocktails for the afternoon.

Then we went outside and found a spot to sit for the actual eclipse. It was very cool to watch it unfold. When totality hit, I took the attached picture. What was very cool was to see the contrast in darker skies looking West and brighter skies looking East. I remember the partial eclipse from 2017 and how dark it seemed then. This WAAYY outdid that! What a cool thing to experience! Hope you enjoyed it!

Be here at 9:00 tonight! This is big!

You heard Cherise play it during the Country Cafe earlier today. Now, it's time for you to have a say with Keep It or Kick It.

Tonight at 9:00 on the New @ 9 I will play the new Luke Bryan single "Love You, Miss You, Mean It" as the New Song Spotlight. Then I need you, the listener, to tell me...do we Keep It or Kick It? This is where you REALLY DO have a voice and your opinion matters to us at WQMX.

Even if you aren't a fan of the song don't be afraid to call or text me saying so. That's what this is all about - to get your TRUE feelings about the new music.

See you at 9:00!

BIG news for Chayce Beckham

We have all joked in the past that MOST of the time, it's the runner's up or the 3rd or 4th place people on American Idol that end up with the big career rather than the winner. There have been a few exceptions (two being Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood). Now, you can add Chayce Beckham to the list of winners with a big career.

He is being recognized as the 1st American Idol winner since Phillip Phillips in 2012 to have a hit song after they won the contest on the show! He is also being recognized as the 1st Country winner of Idol since Carrie Underwood  did it in 2005 to have a #1 in terms of radio airplay after the show!

That is a great accomplishment and a great way to break the "Idol Curse".

More new music coming at 'ya!

Tonight during the New at 9, I will be playing a new song from Randy Houser called "Country Back". We will play Keep It or Kick It to decide if you the listener love the song or not. If you were with Cherise during the lunch hour, you heard her play it during today's Country Cafe.

We always like to get a read on if there is a difference of opinion between the daytime and nighttime crowds. Give it a listen tonight as the New Song Spotlight at 9:00 during the New at 9 on WQMX. Don't forget to vote either by phone call or text at 330-370-2000. Catch you then!
