I had so much fun at the Scotty McCreery charity show last night at the Dusty Armadillo. The meet & Greet was great - he's such a nice guy. Then, there was the show. It was off the chain!!! lol. The crowd was so into it they were lifting the roof off the place!

He sang so many of the songs we have come to love from his library. He sang the new bonus track Rick Allen played in the New At 9 last night ("Can't Pass The Bar"), and sang some classic George Strait as well. We had so much fun and raised a lot of money for Bosom Buddies at the same time! Thank you!!!

Tomorrow evening, I will be at the Dusty Armadillo for our charity concert with Scotty McCreery. Rick Allen will be here at the station to keep you company in my absence.

In the New at Nine for the spotlight song, Rick will be playing a bonus track from Scotty called "Can't Pass The Bar". What will be awesome about this is you should hear Rick play this bonus track right around the time Scotty takes the stage out at the Dusty Armadillo! So, for a few minutes it'll be like you're there anyway!

The Academy Award nominations were announced today. I know there are a lot of people that once the noms are announced, they try to go see each movie up for Best Picture if they haven't yet. 

I am here to tell you. You have 6 1/2 weeks to watch whatever you want to before the awards. They will be hosted be Jimmy Kimmel and air March 10th on ABC.

Now...who do you think will win each category??

Saturday evening, I went with a friend from high school to see Mrs. Doubtfire at the Palace Theatre. We made a whole night out of it. First, we had dinner at one of my favorites...Antonio's in Parma. Then it was on to the theatre. A little slow going through some lake effect snow and REALLY cold wind...but we made it without turning into popsicles!

Then the show. WOW! If you are as big of a fan of the movie as I am, I wasn't sure what to expect. Things have been updated, obviously the movie isn't a musical, and some characters are a little different. I will say though, they have done an excellent job! It is just as hilarious as the movie (and serious too when needed). The musical numbers that have been written were very well done and are great!

If you have time in this next week, check it out! It's their final week in town at Playhouse Square.

Finally it's the weekend! While the snowstorm hasn't quite lived up to the hype it was given, the roads still aren't in the best shape. Where I live in Cuyahoga Falls, the main roads are pretty good, but I can't say the same for the side streets. I am sure that's the case in a lot of areas around here.

The Winter Storm Warning and Winter Weather Advisory (depending where you live) go until 4am. We will see if they get cancelled early or not. If not and the snow DOES continue to add up, at least it's a Friday night and most don't have to work in the morning.

Attention anyone who has followed Fiona the Hippo from birth: she turns 7 next week!!!! This has been an amazing time for the Cincinnati Zoo with the publicity and outreach with Hippos since her birth. She has captivated many across the country - including Sarah Kay and Ryan Lang here at the station.

If I were you, I'd plan a roadtrip down to Cincinnati to help Fiona celebrate her 7th birthday. The zoo is giving fans the chance to meet her and her family too! If you have followed Fiona and her progress, I'm sure you don't want to miss it!

As I sit here at my desk and type this, the temperature outside is 11 with a wind chill of -1! That's freakin' cold!!! Be careful there rest of the week and into the weekend. Daytime temps will be in the teens and twentys for the next few days, with nighttime temps either side of 10. 

Once we get into next week, it looks as though we will get above freezing and maybe even toward 45 by next Wednesday!!! Until we get there...take care of yourself, family, friends and neighbors. Keep everyone warm! Be safe with space heaters, etc. And one more thing - don't forget the "4 foots" as Dick Goddard called them. If it's too cold for you, it's too cold for them. Please take them inside!

Let me be (maybe) the first to wish you a happy Strawberry Ice Cream day! There are many flavors that I enjoy, although I would say I might put Strawberry in the top 5. I love the chunks of strawberries that are usually found in several bites of the cone. If you love Strawberry Ice Cream like I do, let's all get a scoop or two before the day is done!!!! :)

For Christmas I got a nice small TV to put in my bedroom. I enjoy having a little background noise while I fall asleep. The TV on with the volume down low is the perfect thing for me. So, I needed a table or stand to put the TV on.

That's where Abbey Ann's on Cuyahoga Falls Ave in Akron came in. I stopped there yesterday afternoon and found the perfect little table for it!!! It's just the right size for my bedroom corner, the TV, and to top it all off...very lightweight! The wood is in great shape too - no scratches or anything! Other than being just a TAD bit wobbly (which isn't enough to deter me), I'd say I found the perfect piece!
