We had to know it was only a matter of time until this announcement was put out there but it's still sad. Early Monday evening, Pat Sajak announced this upcomming season (2023-2024) will be his last hosting "Wheel of Fortune". Vanna will be sticking around it seems and they will team her up with a new host. The two of them have been teamed together since 1983!

Sajak even surpassed Bob Barker (my all time favorite game show host) for the Guinness World Record for longest-running host of any game show in 2018-2019! It will be interesting to see how viewers take to a new host. Sometimes it works, and sometimes not so much...

After three weeks, it FINALLY decided to rain again! Since Sunday was a rainy afternoon, I decided to go shopping for a few things I've been wanting to get for a little while now. I bought two new table lamps for my end tables in my living room. They are replacing free ones My ex and I got from my dad when we moved in together. Next I want to get a new coffee table. The one I have now is EXTREMELY wobbly. I half fell on it once, which really threw it off kilter. Honestly I'm surprised it is still usable...lol. I didn't find one today, but that gives me more reason to go shopping this week. I'm also trying to find new lights for my kitchen...just update a little from the 80s ;).

While I was shopping for lamps today, I stumbled across a couple cat toys that were on clearance!!! I figured why not. Let's see how Buttercup likes them. One is a track fo him to bat a ball around and chase it - even better...I am able to CHANGE the track around for him so it can be different! The other is a battery operated holder for a string and feather for him to bat around. It has unpredictable motions to keep him on his toes! Hopefully he enjoys them!

Going miniature golfing is one of my favorite things to do in my free time. I love all of the different obstacles you come across and some of the great themes that courses have. This weekend, our winner's weekend contest is right in this arena.

Not that long ago it was so hot and seemed like it would never cool down below 85 degrees. Well today, it has struggled to make it up to 70. That is why the powers that be at Cedar Point had to make the decision to close Cedar Point Shores Water Park for the day! Even in June, it was just not warm enough! 

Luckily for them and anyone who has been planning to go, the weather looks to be on the rebound and headed back toward MOSTLY 80 degree type weather soon. It is quite frustrating when you want to spend the day at the beach or a water park but can't because it's too cool outside. Especially during June, July, and August.

We are OFFICIALLY one week out from The Country Fest! Who are you most excited to see? The headliners are: Wednesday - Riley Green, Thursday - Kane Brown, Friday - Jon Pardi, Saturday - Sam Hunt. 

Personally I'm excited to see all of them. Dustin Lynch, Chase Rice, Tyler Hubbard. Lauren Alaina, Corey Kent. How can you go wrong? It's a great lineup top to bottom next week at Clay's Resort Jellystone Park...Can't wait to see all of them (and you of course) there!

Today (June 6th) is National Drive-In Movie Day. Remember those? I ask because the number of drive-in theaters is dwindling across the country. When I was young (early-mid 90s), we'd go fairly often on a Saturday night in the Summer to the drive-in. I usually didn't make it to the end of the first movie because even that was past my bedtime...lol.

I may not have been able to fully enjoy it then, but looking back it's a fond memory of packing the family into our minivan with blankets, pillows, etc and spending the evening outside falling asleep to a movie. The thing I really didn't like at the time was getting home so late and then having to wake up to go inside to bed after 2am. I really tried to convince my mom to just let me crash in the car for the night.

If you have kids, grandkids, nieces, nephews who have never been to the drive-in...try to take them this year so they can experience something that might not be around much longer.

I wish this was me driving around today. It was such a nice drive into work this afternoon! I had all 4 windows all the way down, and my car said about 72-74 degrees outside! This was a perfect day to have a convertible...comfortable, no humidity, some sunshine. Sadly all I can do is roll my windows down and pretend...I don't even have a sun/moonroof.

If you are lucky enough to have a convertible (and I saw a few of you), take full advantage and enjoy it!

My mom is my landlady. That said, she almost always goes with me when I pick out new decor for my house. We spent part of Thursday afternoon at the hardware store picking out a new ceiling fan for my enclosed porch. The electric may be going bad and it's time to update that and get new hardware in the process - the porch was added onto my house in 1986 and has not had much updating since, so we thought it's time.

We picked out a new ceiling fan pretty quickly. While we were at it we decided to look at replacing lighting in my kitchen, near my front door, and at the top of the stairs going up to the bedrooms.Easier said than done! lol. We spent over an hour going back and forth trying to decide what we liked and thought would look good. Eventually we decided on NOTHING and thought we'd go to at least one other store to compare what they have and decide what we like better. That'll be another day. At least we did get the fan though, so not a COMPLETE waste of time...lol.

Before I forget...there will NOT be an update on my Rhododendron as I had hoped. With all the dry weather it looks about the same as it did in the blog I wrote about it earlier and won't get any better this year. Hopefully next year...fingers crossed.

With today being June 1st, it's the OFFICIAL unofficial start of Summer :)!!!! Today is the climatological first day of Summer!!! Vacations, days at the beach, Cedar Point, no school...I could go on. Summer is awesome! The weather is so nice this time of year. I really enjoy being able to open up my house and let some fresh air inside. Not to mention leaving the house without 10 layers of clothing either on already or packing them just in case.

I CANNOT imagine being underwater, doing your thing as a scubadiver and having this face looking back at you! DANG!!!! Apparently that's what happened to an unlucky guy in Australia. The guy had his head bitten down on by a Saltwater Crocodile. It's bad enough to worry about sharks, but crocs too?! No thank you.
