It's Trailer Thursday! This one just dropped today: Renfield!
It looks like a modern vampire movie with the vampire’s familiar being the main character. Fun! I'm a huge fan of What We Do In The Shadows (show and movie) so I'm all for a cool new vampire flick filled with action. The cast also looks stacked, so excited to see Nic Cage as Dracula!
Check out the trailer for Renfield below!
I live with a dog named Sif. Sif is a Shiba Inu. Shiba Inu's have 2 shedding seasons a year and it's just awful. It seems like no matter how much you brush the fluff just won't go away. I honestly just feel bad for her at this point, how do I remedy this? She doesn't seem to mind too much but it definitely looks like she's having an allergic reaction or something. We're going to take her to her first ever grooming appointment on Sunday to try and fix things. Wish us luck!
I go to the movies a LOT. I review them, so it's important to see them as soon as they come out. I love seeing big blockbusters and getting popcorn and just being a part of the theater experience. But lately, there's been one thing keeping me from enjoying the film, and it's probably my biggest pet peeve of all time.
You're not supposed to do it anyway, but if you're going to the movies PLEASE STAY OFF YOUR PHONES!!!!!! It's one of the first things they tell you to do, yet as of late I've seen TONS of people doing it as of late!!! Even if it's a quick text, your screen is still super bright on it's lowest setting and can be extremely distracting to those around you.
I have ADHD, so paying attention to things is already hard enough without people sending texts every 3 minutes. I can't even have my own phone on silent (unless I need to be super aware of time), I need to turn it completely off because the vibrations distract me. But now ON TOP OF THAT, I have to sit in the first row of the back seat or along the handicap spots just to avoid people on their phones. I had to put my hood up just to hide my peripherals today and there was STILL someone in front of me texting!!!! Unbelievable!
If you're going to the movies please be courteous of other movie goers and stay off your phones. I understand that things have been more relaxed as of late, but don't waste $10 of your hard earned cash if you aren't even going to give a film your full attention.
I was lucky enough to get a Lego set for Christmas! I was even luckier to find out that December 27th was actually Lego Build Day! Since I hadn't built it yet, I decided to build it today!
It was definitely a lot of fun, and I hope to make sets more frequently now that I have more time to do so!
This week's Trailer Thursday is the teaser for the movie Barbie!!!!!! Look I know that it came out last week but it came out on a Friday so I had to wait till now to post it!
This movie is directed by Greta Gerwig and stars Margot Robbie and if that doesn't excite you I don't know what will. This trailer is colorful, star studded, and a brilliant homage to 2001: A Space Odyssey. I'm so excited for this!
Check out the teaser for Barbie below!
You can't buy everyone in your life something personal. So why not make them something DELICIOUS instead? Every year, I make peppermint bark for people I'm not able to shop for! Mostly coworkers, parents of friends, postal workers, and everyone in between. It's so simple and sweet! Hopefully it spreads the joy of the season.
In other news, I got a new coat today. Make sure you bundle up before this weekend hits!
I celebrate Christmas, and since it's now less than a week away (!!!) it's time for me to go into crunch mode and tie up any loose ands (and bows, and ribbons). Today I started wrapping Christmas presents! I'm not the best at it, but I love wrapping them up and making them look pretty almost as much as I like watching people open them! I watched Home Alone as I did it, one of my favorites, and realized I didn't have enough gift tag stickers to finish. Nothing a quick Target run can't fix! I'm so excited to continue tomorrow and start prepping for the snow!
I was finally able to get the decorations out for Christmas! It really wasn't as hard as I thought it was going to be, and although it's a little shabby, I have a place to put gifts now, and I think that's lovely.
The only problem is that I needed a little help to get the lights up so I'll have to wait until this weekend, but it shall be done! After all, they are my favorite Christmas decorations, second only to the tree.
I hope your decorating went smoothly, or it will be in the time to come.
Every year for Christmas I get a few new things. One I previously mentioned was a full Bath and Body Works scent set (RIP Vanilla Bean Noel). The others are a new set of christmas pjs and a new ugly Christmas Sweater! I usually alternate between a pop culture one and a plain ugly one, and this year was plain ugly! I'm a sucker for a good pun, but I'm even more of a sucker for my kitten, Pebbles! So when I saw this “Meowy Christmas” sweater at Target that had an orange cat that looks JUST like Pebbles, I knew I had to get it this Christmas! I think it's not only a great addition to my collection, but also a great ode to one of the biggest things that happened to me this year: getting my best friend!
If you check out our Christmas card you can see the sweater in action, and of course I had to snap a picture of the two of us together! I love it and I hope you have a tradition you love too!
