Contest Rules

To participate in any WQMX game or contest that requires a cue to call in, you must call 370-2000 from the Akron area.  WQMX and it's owner, the Rubber City Radio Group reserves the right to stop any game at any time. No purchase is necessary to enter or to win any WQMX contest. Additional contests are often executed online, via text or social media. The rules for each individual contest are always on the associated contest page for that contest at wqmx.com

If, after any contest has begun, any changes or updates are deemed necessary, the changes will be announced at approximately 7:10am on the day that the change is to take effect.

In the spirit of fairness, anyone who has won a prize on the radio from WQMX is ineligible to win for a period of 30 days. Only one (1) winner per household (street address) is allowed during that period of time. Persons from households where an individual has won a GRAND prize, which could have a value that is "priceless" due to its "experience" nature, or one with a monetary valued at $500 or more are ineligible to participate in any WQMX major contest for a period of one (1) year. Grand prizes are NOT transferable.

Individuals must be 18 years of age or older in order to be able to participate in WQMX contests, unless otherwise noted.  Employees of WQMX, The Rubber City Radio Group and members of their immediate families are ineligible to participate in any game. Employees of any sponsor or agency involved with any contest are also ineligible to participate, as are members of their respective families.

The station reserves the right to any video, audio, photographic or print material which involves the winner(s) or their families for promotional use without further permission. All winners agree to participate with the station and it's advertising agencies in publicizing or broadcasting winners' names, winnings, their picture or character likeness without further compensation. Winners will be solely responsible for the payment of any and all expenses and taxes associated with receipt of any prize.

All winners must sign a release form agreeing to hold harmless the Rubber City Radio Group, radio station WQMX, and all of their respective directors, officers, employees and agents from all losses, damages, penalties, claims, actions, suits, costs and expenses of any kind whatsoever, including any property damage, personal injury or death to any participant or third person arising out of or in connection with participation in any contest or with the use of any prizes awarded in connection with the contest.

All decisions of station management with regard to the awarding of prizes, the selection of winners and the interpretation of these rules shall be final. Each contestant, by virtue of entering any contest, agrees to accept the decision of the station as final.

Written contest rules are available at the Akron Radio Center, 1795 West Market Street, Akron, OH 44313. Least Popular NFL Teams

ESPN asks NFL players which teams they would LEAST like to play for in the league. The athletes have good reasons for wanting to play for some teams and not wanting to play for others.

State tax rates can affect these preferences, as can the local weather and the media market. Big cities offer more advantages to being famous. Also, players don’t want to play on bad teams – or teams run by bad management teams.

So, the question ESPN posed to the players was this… “The only way I’d play for _____ is if they doubled my salary.”

Here’s a rundown of the top five teams the players listed:

5.Green Bay Packers – 6 percent: While the team wins, the cold weather and tiny town atmosphere turns lots of players off. Click Read More

Rainer

Meet, Ranier, this week’s dog …

What are people thinking???  Dropped off at the shelter as a senior!   Unbelievable!  I'm a good boy and I have the typical appeal that all deserving dogs have ... soft fur, sweet eyes, irresistible ears and because of my unfortunate present state, some very insecure behavior :).  Where are my people?  Where are my toys?  Hey, you may as well know it up front ... I'm nervous and concerned for my future.  In fact, at this point I lack a bit of confidence. You see ... I was once in a house and use to a couch.  No middle aged or senior dog should have to find themselves in a shelter in their golden days.

Note: Please keep in mind that all adoptable pets need time to decompress once they enter a home. For some it will happen quickly and for others it might take a few weeks. You'll want to be understanding of what they have been through and their level of insecurity. We ask that you treat all of them as if they were an 8 week old puppy. Assume they know nothing and begin at step one. You'll soon know what they are capable of and what behaviors you will need to "kindly" work on with your new family member. It's called commitment! And, that's what these pets want more than anything!

*We recommend that if you have other dogs to bring them to meet your potential new dog.

Finn

Finn is a charmer!  This teenage dog is just less than a year and was adorable to work with.  We always say that teenagers have the same needs as puppies but because their intelligence is more mature, the learning curve is much less challenging – but your expectation needs to be for a puppy and his progress will offer you a pleasant surprise.  Let’s not delay … Finn is looking for his home for the holidays.
