WYNN - Forgotten Jukebox K-16

Does That Blue Moon Ever Shine On You – Toby Keith  1996 -  (Album - Blue Moon)

SW small Logo When you hear this, you almost forget that it's Toby Keith.  It's like two Toby's ago.  I have been a fan of Toby for years and witnessed the changes in this career. This was early TK.   A very different look, image and sound for the most part.  This song is loved, and not by a few.  Fans love this beautiful song.  Sometimes it's hard to remember some of the great songs before, How Do You Like Me Now, as that song and album changed everything about Toby's entire career.  I mean this is a soft, country, piano driven ballad that's honest and vulnerable. But the fact is, this song was a big hit (#2)  and got him noticed by a whole lot of newer fans after his breakthrough a couple years earlier.  I would venture to say that if you played this for many long time country fans of his, this would rank near the top of their favorite Toby Keith songs.

Cody Johnson - On My Way To You - 2019

SW small Logo Again, one of the newer selections on my list.  I remember the first time I heard this song.  It's rare for me, but I knew at that exact moment this was a hit song.  This written song is country music gold. No matter what the eventual chart position would be, (it was top 15)  listeners were going to love this song and its message.  This is a love song in the fact that it's not sappy, silly, formula or "listy"  (You know listing all the comparables).  So many songs are "You're amazing....Why are you with me.... I don't deserve you.... You're too good for me.... You're prettier than.....blah blah blah..."  Man, that formula works -  but it gets old quickly. This is a love song that simply chronicles in his mind the wait he's had that is now over, and how it is worth it to have someone he loves so much.  This makes you happy for him, and her and you can relate to this, as do I, that many times it takes a long time to meet that one person who makes all the difference, and how good that feels. That one person  - that within you  - answers all the questions you've had. I know I feel that way about Windy, and it was well up the road that I met her, and this song speaks right to me, Windy, and millions more.  Cody Johnson sings this to perfection and this is arranged flawlessly, as it has a powerful musical backbone and doesn't play it safe by being soft, or light rock-ish.  This is an incredible song.

Holiday weekend road trip!

Friday night I went out to Toledo with my mom and spent the night. Then, on Saturday we went to the Toledo Zoo. It is one of my favorite zoos in the country. I have been going there with family my entire life. It's the right size too - bigger than the Akron Zoo, but smaller and more compact than the Cleveland Zoo or other major city zoos.

There were several baby animals including baby birds, a baby Gibbon, a younger Gorilla and a younger Orangutan. THEN, they have a set of 8 month old Polar Bear brothers!!! These guys were CUTE!!!! They were so playful. They had a toy they both loved and would get in the pool and start wrestling with each other. Luckily they could entertain themselves while mom stayed out out the way taking her all important nap!

Below are a couple pictures I snagged of them playing <3

Trailer Thursday: Five Nights at Freddy's

I'm back! With a vengeance.....just kidding! But I am back with one of my more highly anticipated movies for this year: Five Nights at Freddy's!

I'm a big fan of the franchise, so I'm a little surprised about the direction that the trailer went lore wise. Nevertheless, I am excited!

Next From Sam Hunt: Outskirts

Sam Hunt is following up his latest #1 single "Water Under The Bridge" with his next radio single "Outskirts". The song will be available on his forthcoming album. It's a song about heartbreak although not written from a personal perspective. The song tells the story of a single guy who tries to keep busy in the city, but whenever he gets to the outskirts, he thinks about the relationship he lost and what could have been.

One of my favorite desserts

One of my friends from high school texted me late last week saying that the two of us needed to meet up for dinner. Well, we both love Flan...the Mexican custard dessert, so we wanted to get Mexican for dinner of course! So we met up for dinner Wednesday evening for dinner. Honestly, I don't remember what he had lol (I'm such a great friend aren't I?! haha). I had a taco and an enchilada. I also made sure to get some Guacamole for our chips - then it was dessert time. The WHOLE REASON we were there!

The flan was delicious and garnished with whipped cream! YUM!!! If it was better for you, I would have stolen his too and made him order another forr himself!
