With today being the Winter Solstice, that means it is the shortest day of the year!!! Rejoice, because for the next six months we will see more daylight every day. I love the longer days when it stays light until 9:00 and is nice and warm in the summer.

As you travel around town the next several days, you may just see me jumping for joy like the two people in the picture..now if only we could get rid of the clouds and actually see some sunshine!

On my way into work today, I saw a great looking snowman. A classic! The tree branches for arms, a scarf, a hat, eyes and a nose. He looked awesome! He was a little on the smaller side though. Not sure if he was made that way or if today's sunshine sped up the aging process a bit.

Either way, temperatures are supposed to be sticking around the 40s through the weekend and right now, Christmas Day could be near 60!!! Whoever made this awesome snowman is going to have to have a little snowman funeral in the coming days :(.

That's right! You'll have another chance to catch the performances of Jordan Davis, Lady A, Jon Pardi, Lainey Wilson, and more this Wednesday night (12/20) at 10 on ABC. Not only that, you can stream it on HULU and Disney+ as well. Merry Christmas!

It appears we are getting new music from Carly Pearce in 2024. She posted several pictures on Instagram to hint that new stuff is on the way! 

Not only that, the next album will likely be a little more upbeat than her last, 29:Written In Stone. Check it all out on her Instagram page!

I don't know about you...but I think the past couple of days have been awesome! Of course we don't see much sunshine around here this time of year, which leads to some depression in some people..myself sometimes included. That, and with how early it gets dark, it gets bad.

That's why I have been so happy this week with how much sunshine we've been seeing. Nevermind if it's chilly...the sun still helps your mood. It looks like we have one more sunny day tomorrow (Friday) before we go back to the clouds and yuckiness. Enjoy the sun and smile!!! :)

New Year's Eve Live: Nashville's Big Bash airs on CBS at 7:30 December 31st. A few performers including: Old Dominion, Elle King, Thomas Rhett, Lainey Wilson, and co-host Dustin Lynch were already taking the stage.

Now, things have gotten WAY bigger! Many more artists have been added to the evening! They include: Kane Brown, Hardy, Cody Johnson, Parker McCollum, Megan Moroney, Brothers Osborne, Jon Pardi, Carly Pearce, Jackson Dean, Blake Shelton, Morgan Wallen, and Bailey Zimmerman!!!

Talk about a huge line up! If you are not going out that evening, turn on CBS starting at 7:30 and watch all of these artists perform - 50 back to back!

According to a survey...Clifton, just outside of Dayton is the best place for Christmas vibes in Ohio. It came in 56th out of 75 in the nationwide survey. Pigeon Forge,TN (Dolly Parton's hometown) was voted #1!!! I can vouch that they deserve to definitely be in the top 10! 

I guess the survey looked at decorations, maybe some festivals or other festivities that go on nightly, and just the overall feeling for the holiday you get when you visit these 75 places. Check out the FULL list here.

I was flipping through channels on Saturday night and noticed one of the movie channels was showing one of my favorites from my childhood...Good Burger!!!

They weren't just showing it once...oh no! They showed it twice back to back!!! So I made sure to get under the blanket and take myself back to 1997 and watch a Nickelodeon classic. Especially since I have yet to see the recent sequel, this was fun to watch and quite nostalgic too.

As you can see, Buttercup didn't quite make it through the movie before he fell asleep in my lap :). It was just too far beyond his bedtime.

We cannot end the week without mentioning and saying a BIG congratulations to Darius Rucker who received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Monday. 

Of course, he gained fame as the frontman to Hootie & the Blowfish before going solo and changing things up for Country music. He has had much success in both arenas and is now finally being recognized for that work with his own spot on the famous sidewalk.

Congrats Darius!!!

Before I came into work today, Buttercup and I FINALLY got our decorations up at the house. Now keep in mind, all I really do is put up a couple stockings on the fireplace for us. I have a small fake tree that I could put up in my dining room but I think Buttercup would be too curious and just knock it over. 

That said, he was a very big helper today! I put up the hooks on the mantle because they're heavy, but Buttercup kept meowing at me insisting I let him hang up the stockings! ;) (the stories you tell when you have the fur children...lol)

I really meant to take a picture before I left to come into work tonight. I forgot though since I was running a little late. Maybe another post about our Christmas season will still come later and I can get a picture for you then!
