WQMX Day at Put-in-Bay is almost here!!

This Sunday is our 9th annual Island Getaway at Put-in-Bay! The weather forcast looks perfect...Sunny and 82.

Join the WQMX gang at the pool party at the Mist Pool and Bar from 1-3 located right next to the Commodore Hotel with beverage specials and giveaways courtesy of White Claw!

And, of course, don't miss country newcomer "Filmore" on stage at Mr. Ed's Bar at 5pm. You will need a ticket to get in. They are just $5 and will be available at the door the night of the show!

The Commodore Hotel is booked for overnight stays that night, but there are still plenty of other overnight options available near by!

Wondering what exactly is going on on Howe Ave. near Chapel Hill? What construction are they doing, how long is going to take, etc? Here's some helpful info from howavenue.com. (Yes there is an acutal website called howeavenue.com.)

"The $5.9 million project includes pavement replacement on Howe Ave. between SR 8 and Bucholzer Blvd. Project also includes drainage, curbs, sidewalks, lighting and new signage. The entire project is scheduled to be completed in the fall of 2020."

The Akron Arts Expo has something fun for everyone! The event always takes place the fourth weekend in July at Hardesty Park. The Taste of Akron kicks things off on Thursday with samples of appetizers, entrees and desserts from a variety of area restaurants. Summer Uncorked on Friday offers over 150 wines from around the country, hors d’oeuvres, entertainment and a silent auction with artwork from the Akron Arts Expo artists. Saturday and Sunday the Akron Arts Expo will feature more than 160 juried artists, an interactive children’s area, live entertainment, a silent auction, great food and free parking and admission. Canal Park in downtown Akron is one of the true gems of our city. No matter the team record or roster, if you're (even somewhat) a baseball fan, a day at our local ballpark to watch the Akron Rubber Ducks is always a great time.

Great Summer Grilling Tips!

Ask 10 different grilling "experts" the secret to great grilling and you will almost assuredly get 10 different answers. I love to cook out on the grill in the summer. And while I'm no "expert", I do pretty ok.
